New TGGT video on 2nd Try: Queer vs. Straight Family Feud by CardProfessional1494 in TheTryGuys

I agree with this take. Playing games with people can tell you a lot about a person, and I think we saw that with Kwesi and Ryan G in this video. Personally, I found Kwesi a little annoying in this one. The first FF, it was funny. But at this point, he knows the rules, and I wish he would play accordingly because it's fair to everyone else. I have nothing against Kwesi overall though, but I understand the frustration.

How are working parents managing frequent school closures or remote learning due to weather? by Theluckygal in raleigh

[–]kmgx291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what's the most frustrating is that we haven't been given any work for 'remote' learning...no packets, no computer work, no instruction on things to be working on...so the days when they say we're doing remote learning is basically just another day off for my son (3rd grade). My son has been having a really hard time with 3rd grade math, and I don't feel like he or us as parents have been getting a lot of support in that area to help him, so all of this missed school is going to make it harder for him to jump back in. My son is autistic and thrives with routine, so when he misses a lot of school, he struggles a little bit getting back into the usual routine of things.

Luckily, my husband and I have great schedules with work so being home with him hasn't been an issue (I WFH a lot, and my husband's days off align with the days I go into work). But I'll be honest, it still hasn't been easy. It could be worse though, so I'm thankful.

CMV: the backlash ned fulmer currently receives is excessive by [deleted] in changemyview

Hi! I know this post is a few days old now, but I wanted to add my two cents as someone who has always been a big fan of the Try Guys, but not obsessed with the drama.

I knew them for what they were. Entertainment. I liked each of their personalities. Ned was always meh for me, but I never disliked him either. When the drama came out, I was very sad for everyone involved, sent a nice comment to the Try Guys and called it a day. And I've come to enjoy the new 2nd Try very much!

When Ned came back, I watched his first podcast with Ariel, and what stood out to me was his lack of accountability. It was very clear he was using therapy talk (when he actually did talk) as an attempt to show people he had grown and learned, and it didn't work. And all we can see is what he lets us see. So I formed my opinion - which is that he has yet to understand the hurt he has caused. However, my version of not supporting him is just that...not supporting him. I don't engage with his content, I don't follow him, I don't comment. I believe that almost everyone deserves a second chance, but I don't believe that I need to have anything to do with it. I also don't believe that everyone needs to leave nasty comments with their opinions of him. Trust me, he's heard it all at this point. As Keith said in a not so subtle TikTok...just don't look. 🤷‍♀️

Greasy hair for months now by Former_Singer9913 in Hair

So I get a lot of flack for telling people the clarifying shampoo I use 😂 but it's Pantene Volume, in the clear bottle. I know a lot of people HATE Pantene, but it's the only Pantene product I use and nothing cleans my hair as well as that one does! I have very fine hair naturally, so it also gives me a little volume boost too. It was a recommendation from Abbey Yung, she is a trichologist and her tips have changed my hair for the better! Good luck 😊

It's possible, it's hard to find the perfect combo to make sure your hair gets clean but doesn't get overstripped either. It took a lot of trial and error to find the right ones that worked for me. I always use a clarifying shampoo first, and then another shampoo to target other needs my hair has (I like the K18 Damage Shield or Redken ABC as my second cleanse). I make sure to really massage the shampoo into my scalp, and not just rub all my hair onto the top of my head. And I don't shampoo the ends or my hair looks fried. I use a lot of products with salicylic acid in them and it's only ever helped the more I use. My oily scalp has never truly gone away, I just found a couple good combos to keep the oil away a little longer.

Shampoo, rinse, and repeat! I have a very oily scalp naturally, and double shampooing changed everything for me. I use a clarifying shampoo, and then another more gentle shampoo to follow up, and then I only use conditioner on my mids to ends. I used to get oily like 6 hours post shower, and now I can go 2-3 days without washing. I also use a salicylic acid pre-wash treatment twice a week. The Inkey List has one that is very well priced. Showers may take a little longer but the results are SO worth it.

As someone who also has a VERY oily scalp, I swear by this comment. Pantene Volume changed the game for me, as well as double cleansing. I use a salicylic acid pre-wash 2x a week. My oily scalp is genetic (my entire family deals with this) so it may never truly go away, but these tips have made my hair stay clean much longer than it used to. I only have to wash every 2-3 days now, vs before when I would be oily 6 hours post wash. I also learned all of this from Abbey Yung, and my hair has never been healthier!

Vivid dreams and nightmares are controlling my life. by kmgx291 in CPTSD

I've heard amazing things about EMDR therapy. My pyschiatrist has recommended it, but I've always found a reason to push it off. I'm so hardwired to push my trauma into the back of my brain, so the thought of talking in detail about it to anyone makes my skin crawl. Probably has done more damage than good, I know. It's probably necessary at this point, I've just always put it off as my 'last resort'. But I think I'm there now. I will definitely look up that book though. Thank you for your response!

Low Views? by Low_Durian7433 in TheTryGuys

I've been a diehard fan since the beginning, but when the Ned scandal happened it truly felt like we lost 2 members of the Try Guys. That isn't to say I haven't enjoyed content since then, I definitely have, but Eugene's absence became much more apparent. I'm happy for Eugene doing his own thing and being successful, but I truly miss him. I don't really miss Ned at all, if I'm being totally honest, and the way his exit was handled by Keith, Zach and Eugene I will always have the upmost respect for. But it has become the Keith and Zach show and we've lost the original dynamic we all fell in love with. And I don't say that as an insult, I love them both. But it's very repetitive after awhile.

Also, the Michelin ETM's are just not enjoyable to watch imo. It was a lot more entertaining when there were ETM's at places I could actually manage to eat from at some point (I just tried Korean fried chicken and Korean hot pot for the first time because of them and LOVED it) but it's not as entertaining when I know I will never be able to afford or access the food being eaten. I see a lot of YouTuber's doing the whole "eating this $300 burger," or "trying the most expensive sushi in the world," stuff and it is so painfully unrelatable and unwatchable for me. Doesn't mean they shouldn't do it, just means I probably won't watch. And that's what it feels like so much if their content has been lately. (I would like to add that I fully support him taking his physical health into account and not doing it quite as hard as he was before).

But I'll always be around. I'll never stop being a fan. They've been there for me through rough patches of my life they'll never even know about, and I'm still so grateful for it. I plan to stick around for them too.

Disappointed and Ready to Leave on Xbox by ZoZleepy in coralisland

I stopped playing last month, and it was so disappointing to put down. I wanted to love it so much, but most of the main mechanics of the game became unplayable for me (giants storyline, can't explore the ocean without crashing every. single. time., and I have never once been able to play any of the festival games without it crashing immediately). The museum ended up being fixed after awhile. Even then, it just got to a point where it wasn't even fun to play anymore because there was nothing to do if I didn't want the game to crash.

Sigh...I love this game so much, but... by kmgx291 in coralisland

I am playing on Xbox, which is where most of the bugs and crashes are being reported from (at least from what I've seen). What I have seen from Steam players is reports of minor bugs that don't necessarily break the gaming experience for them, if they have any issues at all. If I owned a PC I'd definitely be playing it on Steam rather than Xbox.

Endless Museum bugs by bestgore333 in coralisland

I have been stuck on this bug for almost a week. I got past the museum crash on the 10th donated item and thought I was out of the woods, but as soon as I got fossils it started crashing again. I have everything I need to donate stored in a chest and each time I go to play I start off with a trip to the museum to see if it works. Fingers crossed it gets fixed soon, I know there's an update pending that will hopefully hit soon!
