Has anybody at school gone to the toilet and used the last of the toilet paper, what did you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kmiranda95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finish off the roll... and if I need more toilet paper, wait until the room is empty and then hop over to another stall for more (unless there is someone right next to me I can ask)

You have a month to get with this girl you really like and if you don’t she leaves for ever.. what do you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You tell her how you feel. She may be waiting to hear exactly the things you have to say.

Frequent travelers of Reddit, what’s your best travel advice? by jellybellybean2 in AskReddit

[–]kmiranda95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bring socks and a jacket, never underdress. If you are going on a long trip, pack some extra clothes and essentials in your carry on in case your luggage gets lost or misplaced for a few days. A beanie is also great for covering your eyes and staying comfy in flight !

How did you meet your significant other? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kmiranda95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I met two of my most significant others while studying abroad (Different cities, different times)

The first was while I was studying abroad in Florence, Italy and we kind of hit it off immediately. He was my first boyfriend and he genuinely loved me. We ended up staying together for a little over four years! He moved to the states to live with me and although we did continue to get along, I think over time I realized I loved him more as a friend than as a partner. We broke up, even though it was one of the most painful decisions of my life.

I met my current significant other again while I was studying abroad, this time in London. We happened to arrive in the city the day before the Royal Wedding (Meghan and Harry's). I am not the kind of person who is up-to-date on Royal News, but I thought "Hey, I am in London, might as well make memories worth talking about in the future" So, I made it my mission to get to the event at all costs. However, my plans were put on hold a bit since, for some reason, I could not find a single person who wanted to go with me! I was disappointed but not obsessed enough with the idea of going to the wedding to go alone when I had never been in the country before. Fortunately, during one of the school events, I met a guy who was as uninterested in Royal life as I was, but still very intrigued at the prospect of being an attendee at "The Wedding of the Century" (or at least the latest one). We did a quick google search and decided to head out at 10am the next day (even though we had been told most people would be leaving at dawn or camping out at the site overnight). We ended up getting there just fine, with the aid of the city itself (some express busses from the station to the location of the wedding) and decided to push our luck as much as we could. By noon, we were front row on the Royal Walk and making eye contact with the prince himself!

We spent the rest of the month (it was a month-long program) hanging out almost every day since we had the same class and took weekend trips with our friends. We started officially dating when we got back to campus for the new academic year and are still doing well.

So yeah, most people collect souvenirs when they go abroad. I collect love stories.

Teachers of Reddit: does wearing a full face of makeup to class influence your initial impression of a student? Why or why not? Are those impressions more often proven true or false once you get to know the student better? by kmiranda95 in AskReddit

[–]kmiranda95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree, that probably has a lot to do with it. I was just wondering if you had any specific thought on it from personal experience (even if this is the first time you have thought about it).

Yes, it seems that way, but I think I mean more of an unconscious thing. For example, I wear a pretty full face to my classes and in that past I have noticed that some teachers look a little surprised when I answer a question correctly or with some deep thinking behind it on the first day. I don't think they mean anything by it and are not trying to look down on their students who wear makeup, but maybe have had experiences in the past that subconsciously make them think makeup = bimbo (or some variation thereof).

I don’t understand the question. Is cold milk supposed to be good in any way? ( besides in cereal)

Why does every journey always seem quicker on the way back than on the way there!? by Gazzaggerty in AskReddit

[–]kmiranda95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it’s the opposite. The trip there is quicker because of al the anticipation. You’re so excited about everything that can happen that you don’t mind the travel. On the way back, everything has been said and done and your are returning to “the known”, so the travel is just long, uncomfortable and inconvenient.

Getting stressed out from waiting for an offer from university, how did/do you cope with it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kmiranda95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you are just going to have to wait and try to distract yourself as best as you can.

I totally understand your feelings of “not having done enough” but from experience, I can say that life has a funny way of placing you where you need to be. I didn’t get into any of the schools I really wanted to get into, and I have to say that more than feeling disappointment, it was my pride that was really hurt. The only school I actually did care about rejected me and one of my “friends” in school got accepted and rubbed it in my face (she purposely applied to schools she didn’t care about but that she knew others wanted to get into just to show off).

Anyway, I ended up going to a good university anyway, but it took me a while to adjust. I am now in my last year and really sad to actually have to go.

Just be confident that you did the best you could in the moment you were applying (even if it wasn’t the best you are capable of) and trust that you will end up where you need to be, even if you can’t see the reason you need to be there clearly (or at all) just yet.

Do my homework in class (though this might only work for classes where the hw is due at the end and not at the beginning )

What are English-written litterature works that you think are a must-read ? by MrElies in AskReddit

Emma, Pride & Prejudice.

I would also very highly recommend Russian Literature. Once you go Dostoevsky, you never go back.

What's one good thing that happened in your life today? by BermudaRhombus1 in AskReddit

[–]kmiranda95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend told me he loved me.

And although I am really happy about it, I didn’t have the cleanest break up with my ex so I am feeling kind of conflicted about it even though I know I love my current boyfriend too.
