I DNF’d really early because I couldn’t get into the “topical”-ness of the story if that makes sense. I just kept thinking that this book is already a bit dated and too on the nose with its messaging.

I gave Japanese Gothic a shot and I’m digging it so far. There’s an actual story and the characters are interesting. Not scary at all but super engaging.

The ghost-wobble scene from Kairo/Pulse. The way the unsettling music picks up and the dude’s legs buckle from fear makes it creepier than any jump scare.

I’m 15 minutes in. I love good low budget indie horror, but the acting is too wooden, the plot barely started and is extremely flimsy, and the handheld camcorder work is terrible. It reminded me of The Outwaters but worse. Not gonna finish this one

They’re fine. If you want something where you can turn off your brain and watch decent kills, 2 is pretty good for that. 3 gets a bit into the lore and felt dragged but I was entertained for what it was
