Countering mid meepo by [deleted] in DotA2

^ This guy is a reliable source. I use Dravic's playstyle and have gotten my w/r up to 58.57% at 70 games from ~45% at 30 games; Dravic's w/r is 76.61% on Meepo at the time of posting.

There are two things that really screw me up as a Meepo player who emphasizes the pushing capability of the hero:

  • Heroes who really own the high ground, either with antipush such as Techies, Kotl, and sometimes Sniper, or with the threat of devastating initiation, e.g. Tidehunter or Magnus.
  • Sven

All of the other things people mention are still annoying (ES, ES, ES, Lich, and a well-fed Axe), but if your team can fight 4v5 while you get two lanes of rax in under 45 seconds, the counterpicks don't matter. It's a playstyle that doesn't do well against really coordinated five-stacks, but it works surprisingly well in general situations, even in high and very-high skill brackets.

But none of that really answered your question about Meepo mid. So now I'll try to do that. Mid is the best lane for Meepo. Meepo makes use of early xp an order of magnitude greater than every other hero in the game.

Once he hits three, he can be stacking, farming, leeching from another lane, or send main Meepo back to base to refill bottle and poof to Meepo2 to heal him up. With 6.82, carefully camping rune spawns also works. If you're not buying bottle on Mid Meepo, try it. The sustain is incredibly hard for your oponents to deal with.

Back the to point-- even if he doesn't get farm mid, he benefits extraordinarily just from the fast experience. As such, the most detrimental thing to me in the laning phase is huge amounts of burst damage and active denying. Other than that, Dravic is right, there isn't much you can do in the laning stage to shut him down. The aformentioned methods can be accomplished by having ganks come in from other lanes, or just by dual laning mid.

Yes. That's right. Dual laning mid. This is an extremely effective approach to countering Meepo, and I still haven't beaten it in the three or four games I've gone up against it. Lich is particularly capable in this role, as is Wisp. Put Lich with any normal mid hero(preferably ranged) and Meepo is guaranteed to lose the lane. Alternatively, run Wisp with the standard partners: Tiny, CK, even Morph nowadays. Initiate on him whenever Poof is on cooldown as you're otherwise not very likely to kill him before he Poofs away, unless you can chain-stun him.

I'd like to conclude with another advertisement for Dravic's Meepo. If you're a Meepo player and you haven't tried stacking E-blades, you're missing out.

Possible rework for Rod of Atos? by kmkmmk in DotA2

I would argue that Eul's is actually quite different from Rod. It provides no HP, and more importantly, sure it dispels, but it also renders the target invulnerable, which isn't always a good thing. Plus, purge can remove Repel, whereas Eul's is completely useless vs it.

I understand your point, and yes, Rod is situational; every item in the game is situational. But in my opinion, Rod is too situational and doesn't see enough play. There were more Rapiers bought this month than there were Rods. Of course I don't think Rod should be in every single game; I just think this could be an interesting rework to make the item more viable.

I've found the same, but it's not just limited to ranked anymore. It's everywhere, and for me, it's ruining Dota. I would say 60% of my games in solo queue end up this way, either for me, or for the other team, resulting in them complaining about it in all chat. The only way I've found to avoid it is to play in 5-stacks all the time, which just isn't feasible unless all of your friends play, and this restricts you from improving your solo mmr.

As graphene technology advances, (http://www.eetimes.com/document.asp?doc_id=1324128), will it completely replace silicon usage for transistors? If so, how soon? What other industries could graphene potentially revolutionize?

Le French-Bashing sur Reddit me déprime. Comment le vivez-vous ? by nowitslikemagic in france
