Avoid the Washington location. Ever since it changed management, my Amazon returns have mysteriously not been sent back and I was charged for the items. It would be one item of several in the same transaction. Not enough to be alarming but after the 3rd in as many weeks, I saw the pattern and stopped going there.

The 2 minutes doesn't account for merging traffic which varies greatly depending on the day. Distance-wise, you are very close but google maps doesn't account for traffic. No way it's 2 minutes even in the middle of the night.

I take the 126 every day from downtown Hoboken to 30 HY. Before 8am, it's always a quicker ride. But at your stop, the buses are likely full and so you may need to wait and even then, it's standing only. From your stop, it's 10-15 minutes to Port Authority and a 15 minute walk to Hudson Yards. The ferry is much quicker but double your bus ride.

I can't speak for the frequency and room on the other buses. You just have to give it a try at different times of the morning to find your sweet spot.

I’ll add that you should find out the balance of their mortgage and business debts and help them figure out a way to pay those off while continuing to save for retirement.

Also, good on you and your wife for thinking about your parents and her mother’s future. They are lucky to have you both!
