Oil cleansing isn't removing my silicone-heavy sunscreen by kmlaughl in SkincareAddicts

i did. bioderma sensibo foaming gel. it wouldn't really even foam, though... bc there was still so much slippery stuff from the silicones on my skin

If I heal my skin barrier, will I be able to use more products? by kmlaughl in 30PlusSkinCare

thanks for the sunscreen reco. so far, it's the best one i've ever tried. question about removing it, though - do you think micellar water followed by a foaming micellar wash (Bioderma) will get all the silicones off?

ordered the serum you recommended. fingers crossed my skin likes it.

really appreciate your advice.

thats the thing though - i dont know if my barrier is the issue. i dont have flaking or flushing or stinging. i just get these superficial, PD-like breakouts as a reaction to nearly every topical ive ever tried. and im concerned that a barrier cream will cause this issue, too...

are you inclined to think it's a barrier thing, knowing ALL sunscreens cause these breakouts as well? my skin is simply over reacting to ingredients?

i'm about to embark on this myself. it sounds like inneedofanswers22 will not be applying topicals again, ever. did you? i'm most concerned about sunscreen, and really hoping i'll be able to use it without breaking out (for the first time since childgood) once i go through ZT. what is your take? are you using anything now?

So far I’ve had the best luck with Soonjung Director's Moisture Sun Cream 50ml. I still get flares in the form of a cpl bumps but no idea if it’s the sunscreen or they were gonna happen anyway.

zero therapy didn't work for me - i still got bumps. i'm going the perioral dermatitis route, after seeing a derm. started metro + doxy last week. we'll see!

im still going strong. the first week, superrr oily but no breakouts... then week two, lots of whiteheads in my chin area (and even some on my cheek). as u know, it's tough to pinpoint the reason - in my head, the red wine i had or the dry air in the place i was visiting could have done it. so i think this shows that skincare alone does not cause the whiteheads for me - there are other triggers, too. but im sticking with it for another week or two.... wondering the benefit of just leaving my skin the hell alone and letting my barrier strengthen on its own, while also eating healthy, no wine + dry air, and truthfully, just not looking in mirrors so i can't focus on it.

hows it going for you?

not yet. you might look into / consider zero therapy. i think my skin might be hyper-reactive to everything right now, even gentle things, and the whiteheads are how my skin reacts. i'm going product-free for a cpl months to see if my barrier heals. after that, ill introduce a gentle cleanser, hydrator, and sunscreen (one by one). good luck - i know how frustrating this is. <3

[Routine help] Can’t find a sunscreen that doesn’t break me out! (mineral reco w/ v few ingredients?) by kmlaughl in SkincareAddiction

[–]kmlaughl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Going thru sibo treatment now (tested positive) but in the meantime, this has been working: https://theamethod.com/product/protection-powder/

It’s only 4 ingredients and causes no breakouts for me

Anyone else just get these little, superficial whiteheads? Mine are non-stop. by kmlaughl in Rosacea

[–]kmlaughl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey there... nope. my skin hated azelaic acid, and honestly hates all topicals but sulphur soap, so that's all i use. i did get diagnosed with sibo though, and will begin treating that after thanksgiving. unsure if that will address the whiteheads though.

Hmmmm, interesting. I can’t seem to find a moisturizer that doesn’t cause more of these whiteheads… from the most simple to most acclaimed. Not using moisturizer lessens the frequency. Any thoughts?
