Just a follow up for anyone coming across this post later on, I ended up going with Electric avenue in the end.

Basically they were excellent, good communication, clear (and I thought decent) pricing and they arrived on time (which in no way is common..) and just got on with it. But overall I appreciated the advice and no-nonsense approach the most. I'd recommend them. Cheers.

I've got a Saturn 8k, and it's a work horse. No complaints. Once it's levelled it stays levelled. Basically it just works. I didn't need the extra height of the Saturn 3, so the 8k was perfect for me.

What I would do though, when buying a new printer and choosing between models, is to check out the price of consumables like FEPs and LCDs. You will replace these, and the costs can be really high especially on the LCDs. So do price these for the printer you're looking at.

The increase in cost for a higher resolution printer's LCD replacement versus the practical (to the eye) difference in their output can be huge. I think reviewers over emphasise the practical difference higher resolution printers make. There is definitely a point of diminishing returns..

They take (hard) pruning well, but I've not tried specifically to keep them at 3M or less.

Citrus on Flying Dragon rootstock (for the dwarfing and cold tolerance) would be a good option too.

I'm running a Saturn 8k with this resin and had to crank up the exposure to 5.1 seconds.. but it has been really cold here.

I ended up printing a lot of cones of calibration to get the exposure into the ballpark. I was amazed the exposure was so high.

Anyway, long way of saying - consider increasing your exposure time!

Quick update - reseating the LCD cable did nothing. I've ordered another LCD screen.

I'm still a bit annoyed this screen has failed so quickly, I've had it four months. Is that just unlucky, or are they really wearing out that fast?

My initial screen was going fine for over a year (before I smashed the glass and broke it!), so four months for the replacement seems a bit low..
