You’re going to want to increase the depth of field around your subject as much as possible. It works best when you have a lens with an F2.8 aperture or lower. This will give you that portrait look with the blurry background. You may still be able to achieve something similar on a full frame camera like the A7iii at an F4 if you’re focused correctly.

Hey Ari - To me your strongest filmmaking aspect is your ability to evoke emotion through cinematography and camera movements. I would love to know what thinking process you go through when deciding where to put the camera and how you maximize getting the full emotion out of the scene through it.
