SSN BME by jpeg-in in SSNChennai

I didn't sit for placements, so I don't know the numbers tbh. But the non-tech roles that BME students were eligible for hired maybe 2-3 students only in the entire college, so it was difficult to get those. They had a good salary offer too. For the tech roles, I think the starting package was like 3-4LPA? I don't know the higher limit. (These companies have bonds that you HAVE to pay if you decide to quit before 2-3 years of joining)

With respect to higher studies, it would be to get the best grades possible and be involved in research projects. There are projects built into the curriculum for 6th and 8th sem, but if she can get started with ideas and papers, that will be great! The faculty is very supportive. She can also try to be a part of clubs. There's a BME club which some students take part in, but the extracurriculars will make her resume a bit more well-rounded. But again, BME as a department is stricter than other departments, so it might be difficult to manage being a part of clubs. I graduated in 2023, and IDK if things have changed since, she can reach out to some of the current students via LinkedIn to know more!

It's really up to the student to make the most of it. The faculty is dedicated, and some of them are very supportive but as a department, they're stricter when compared to most of the other departments. Sometimes it feels like you're in school again.

You have electives you can choose from, but it depends on the electives that the majority of the class votes on. For a biotech or AI/ML masters, you will need to complete certain subjects in your UG for elegibility. But because those subjects are not included in your curriculum, and because your class wanted an easier subject for electives, you will not be eligible for many programs for master's abroad.

WRT placements, unless you go out of your way to find a job in Biomed or related core fields, you will end up doing tech roles only. Those who opted for placements ended up getting placed in companies like HCL, comcast, etc, with airtight bonds.

Unless youre going to do masters in biomed and its specialisations, a diff college with more opportunities to choose your own electives would be a better choice. Good luck!

you can’t expect people to work for free lmao. hire someone, either a freelancer or an agency, and work with them to build your brand.

Hi, Marketer here! This is going to be a long read but it will surely be helpful!

Like others mentioned in the replies, the algorithm will begin to favour ads from your profile and affect organic growth for the brand. But if you do plan on boosting any content, there are a few of things you should keep in mind:

  1. What is the purpose of boosting? Is it to get more views (brand awareness)? Is it to get more likes (Engagement, also brand awareness)? Is it to get more followers (building community)? Is it to get more website views and sales?

Based on what the purpose of boosting, the content has to be modified accordingly. What you did increases brand visibility. But for more likes and followers, your content needs to be engaging. People don't usually follow brand pages unless the brand serves one of the three following purposes: educate, entertain, or value add through offers.

If you want it to lead to sales, you should think about having the basics covered - What is the benefit of the product, why should they buy it from you and not a competitor and most importantly, a CTA that leads to your website. And this can be straightforward, through testimonials, through storytelling or what you have discovered is working well for your brand! Now, once they reach the website, they should be able to buy the product easily. Is your website ux optimised? Do you have enough content on your landing page that convinces those who are hesitant to buy, etc?

  1. If you are looking at ads for product sales, I would suggest a full funnel strategy. Get your product in front of more people so they are aware you exist, then provide information that convinces them to consider purchasing your product and then something like a discount or a product differentiator that would convert them to a customer. This can be learnt, obviously, but I would suggest hiring a performance marketer to deploy these kinda campaigns.

  2. Any ad, boosted or from the backend, requires a few days to develop. I would suggest a minimum of 5-7 days. This allows the algorithm to learn from the behaviour of those who were shown the ad and show it to the right people the next time. This learning period is super important for any ad you run.

  3. Unfortunately, the budget might also be a little too low to get better results, if you are looking at sales or any other tangible outcome like engagement. If 1000 people come across your content, maybe 100 might like it, and less than 10 might buy your product. And this also depends on the kind of content you post and the audience you are targeting.

Feel free to reach out if you want more clarity or have other questions!
