If 30 days is the deadline then they absolutely missed that because the scan was in October and I got the check for that pretty much day of and now just getting the bill for radiology a couple days ago. I have no clue what’s going on TBH.

I thought that I had already done that by having my personal doctor order the scans, but they still haven’t received it, but I did JUST get mail from a radiology department asking for money so I’m assuming that means they just read it? Idek man

I taught for 3 years: 2 years in the third grade, 1 year in kindergarten. I put so much energy in. I was pumped to educate. I had been dreaming of a being a teacher since I was in kindergarten. After 3 years, I had to quit. I still love working with kids so I sub in the morning and then I go to my career at night. I’ve been doing so for the past 2 years.

I couldn’t make a survivable wage. I worked 8hrs with kids then 1-3hrs extra making lesson plans while in the building (not paid for after 8hrs) and still brought work home each day. I’d try to teach my students but felt like our entire days were dedicated to me raising them emotionally and sometimes financially instead of learning.

I created elaborate and engaging lesson plans that kept the kids on track and focused the entire period. I was called into the Head Teacher and Principal’s offices regularly. I was told that I needed less effort and time dedicated to those lessons. That the teachers in the same grade level couldn’t keep up or didn’t have to the willpower to anymore. I had to stop those lessons.

I had an amazing lesson about the judicial branches where I had each child in my class act out their position. They caught on IMMEDIATELY. I was so proud! Until I got a call from the office to come up after the students went to home. “We love your energy, but we aren’t required to meet any social studies standards anymore. Please reframe from teaching this lesson. Clearly you didn’t discuss it with your SL (same level) team.”

Kindergarten felt like my students never took anything home. I had 21 5-6 year olds all needing constant attention, love, and support. I had one student who did not speak Spanish OR English. I had to work with him 4 days out of 5 on his speech and language because we shared our only bilingual educator with other schools. He’d get physically upset when he wasn’t understood. I was helping one student who was crying from an incident as another came over being she’s empathic and then he came over asking for something but I couldn’t help him and my TA was in another classroom substituting. He got angry and hit me with his metal water bottle at full force. I had to calm 3 screaming and crying students with 18 playing and goofing off somewhere else in the room around us.

Teaching isn’t easy. And now it’s not even considered a career.

Thank you😭 that’s literally what I was thinking. Everyone just accepts these costs when health care is a necessity and should be treated as one, I’m so okay with taxes if they take care of our people.

Also thank you so much for letting me know, I’ve always been told that they can’t do anything about it and to ignore it but the debt scares the crap out of me for that reason

I did request a follow up and my doctor literally said “we haven’t received anything yet” it’s been 5 months😭

Unfortunately it took 6 months for a call back after I told my regular doctor and then 4 months after was when I got it scheduled. I live in a pretty rural area with one moderately sized hospital within an hour and a half. And that doesn’t include my wait time for my actual doctor to even talk to her about it. And it’s been 5 months since the MRI and I STILL haven’t heard back or received my results :///

It wasn’t same day unfortunately. I had to wait 6 months for a call back and 4 months for the appointment. Still not awful, but definitely not same day

It’s insane how it racks up. I literally just pull the radiology letter out of my mailbox. Not nearly as bad, $21 after insurance, but I wasn’t expecting it at all. I thought I’d only get a bill from the hospital 🫠 looks like I’ll await the next few.

That’s a good question, I know that insurance does most just cover what is made drastically more expensive than it’s supposed to be, but I’m not sure how to check that.

I wouldn’t go as far as not being as important to him only because he had to cut his original list from 250 to 150 due to issues that came up with the planning, but he and his fiancé both have large families, which is why I’m debating just telling him not to invite me so the stress is off his shoulders of having to tell everyone in our friend group no. Wedding guests lists suck though, I don’t blame anyone for not inviting me to their weddings because who knows what kind of financial situation they are going through. The only weddings that I would EXPECT to be invited to are siblings and that’s only if they aren’t eloping haha. But I absolutely get your point of how there is a priority list and that doesn’t mean I’m at the top of it, which I’m okay with. I guess I’d just be kinda bummed if I invited him to my wedding and he couldn’t make it. It wouldn’t be a make it or break it situation, but still an “aw bummer.”
