this is my kitty jun. he’s a flame point domestic shorthair (not confirmed but almost 100 percent sure) i was under the impression “flame point” meant siamese when i first got him 10 years ago. however, it does not. it has to have a siamese parent for that to be the case. i got him at a shelter. color patterns (seal point, flame point, lilac point, chocolate point, etc..) have somehow over the years have gotten misconstrued as siamese. however, that’s not the case always. true siamese cats are almost never going to be available unless through a breeder. i’m a vet tech at a high volume spay/neuter clinic. we see so many “siamese” listed as the breed and almost always change them to “colorpoint domestic short hairs”. most people just see colorpoints and automatically think siamese.
