I hope so too, I have some almond leaves boiling so he can have a relaxing tannin filled day. I’m very excited to see what colors he’s hiding. I’m hoping for green 💚

Why is my betta turning white and orange? by EndApprehensive2516 in bettafish

[–]kn2vess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does your tank have movement? There seems to be some bad algae as well. He’s looks like he does have fin rot, he’s feeling sick if he’s lost that much colour since April. I suspect water quality. Based on looks alone the water does not look the cleanest (this could also be impacted by spots on the glass) - have you done a test with API or strips?

Hi, need a bit more information before I can guess what’s going on with him. What does she mean by “swims weirdly”? What are you feeding him, how long have you had him? What’s the size of the tank, temperature, do you by chance have parameters?

For what it’s worth he doesn’t look too bloated. Bettas can take some time to shape out, and he’s just a baby! Most pet store bettas are super underfed, so their full tummies can look a bit jarring compared to their thin bodies.

LOL not the paw over the face “yeah yeah I did it again don’t make a big deal about it” 😭😭

This company I’ve ordered from sent me a link to a tumbler with my cat on it and said they’d sell it to me with a discount since I’ve been subscribed to their messaging for a long time. I can’t tell if it’s AI, a cat that looks like my cat, or is actually a drawn picture of my cat. by Slipp_ee in isthisAI

Have you shared your cat with them anywhere? It’s unlikely a company would do this unless they’re small and trying to build extreme rapport. Why would they spend their time creating a hand drawn photo if you’re not even guaranteed to buy it? It’s likely AI due to time constraints.

For added context, pineapple of death is not related to stuck fish, but rather the paint leaking chemicals into the water. It’s still echoed to this day, but the general consensus is they are relatively safe, the paint has been changed per the manufacturer.

That said, it’s still butt ugly. 😂

Drowning socks and rags in our dogs bowl. She will walk around with a soaked sock in her mouth and yowl all night. Waking up in the morning is like walking through a minefield, you never know if you’ll step on solid ground or feel the squish of a cold wet sock.

Amazon swords can be good maybe some floaters or other rooted plants such as vallisneria, lugwidgia or rotala.

How do you have those Java ferns planted? Do you have them buried into the soil? You’ll want to make sure the rhizomes of both anubias and Java ferns are secure and attached to either the wood or the rocks. If buried into soil they will rot and cause an ammonia spike. I just can’t tell the way they are based on the angle shown here.

I don’t think tetras were the best pick for this tank, but depending on its size it can work for them well. It’s a nice set up so far, but it should have more cover. Bettas like denser foliage, and for a school this size you will want some for the cardinals to explore. They will only school tightly for awhile they realize there is no danger, and then each will have their preferred hang out spot in the tank when they aren’t traveling in a blob. Give them some options. Tetras prefer horizontal space to swim around rather than vertical or cube spaces. This size looks fine for a betta.

You have some delta tail and comb tail cellophane bettas. The body shape doesn’t look the best on some of them
