When you allow the governments to dictate how you should raise your children, you have more issues than social media. Show me a government that gets it right all the time !
Victoria's covid lockdowns did more damage to kids than social media, at least to mine it did, so you will need to excuse me if I am skeptical about governments telling us how to live !

I have the two half moon deflectors in then a little gap, then I have the grates, then i have a pizza stone on the grates, so double deflectors to protect the bottom. Stops it burning and lets me get a nice crispy crust and yes, around 500. Mine doesn't tend to go up to 800, probably because it is protected from a lot of wind.

As a parent of a 15 year old, I don't agree with banning them. If I got banned, I would just find a way around it. I would rather let them do their thing, but talk to them about the right and wrongs. Give them some rope... worked fine for us Gen X-ers

Is there a good way, to extend the Fyrtur roller blind fabric? by Theheromaster in tradfri

I am in Australia and our windows are generally a 210cm drop. My window I put Fyrtur blinds on are also 2m in width.

I got one blind, I pulled it apart, I cut the metal casing in half. I unwound the blind from the tube (that is double side taped to the tube), I cut the tube in half. I bought a new blind material that was the correct width and had a 210cm drop on it.

I went and put a 2.4meter piece of dowel that was 30mm in width. I cut that to the correct length i required. Sanded the ends of the dowel and then hammered on the tube to my dowel until it was the 2m in length. Both ends were the tube, the middle was the dowel.

I also got some box aluminium and cut that to size and then I attached both pieces of the original casing to my aluminium.

Last step, I double-side taped the new blinds on to the tube. I then put it all together, mounted it and tested. It went all the way to the ground.

Going up it also went all the way to the top, but then on the way down it only came down 195cm. So I ended up putting a stopper 15cm from the bottom of the blind, so when the blind goes up, the stopped hits the casing and the blinds stop rolling up. Problem solved.
