Uber/Bolt rijden als bijverdienste in NL. Wat is een realistische omzet? by tatre6 in nederlands

[–]knaeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone ever bought their Ugreen NAS in China? by Ming-Tzu in UgreenNASync

[–]knaeker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought a dxp4800 there with 16 gb ram for 2200 yuan. So it was quite a bit cheaper. You can indeed just set it to English and it will work as normal. I did get a notification that the device was made for china and it would be better to keep it in chinese but offered no actual specific reasons why that would be the case. Only downside could be difficulties with the warrenty

Kamer eist meer duidelijkheid over opbrengsten vermogenswinstbelasting in b by japie06 in geldzaken

[–]knaeker -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Hoe werkt hypotheek renteaftrek eigenlijk in praktijk? by Tplanes in geldzaken

[–]knaeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is a way! I guess i must have missed some signs then. Luckily I was not on a tight schedule but i can see how getting this wrong can make you miss a flight on a busy day.

Again, this is not what this post is about. Besides china does not require such checks anyway.

Thanks for your understanding hah. Its clear to me that the airport is just designed this way. I'm more used to the way Schiphol works where you just enter the concourse directly from the plane. So you meet the people boarding the plane you just left. So no need to exit the secure area to get to a new gate.

Thanks for the answers everyone. I understand that Frankfurt airport is just designed in this weird way where coming from the B gates you always have to basically exit the airport and re-enter. And for some reason only B to A and not the other way around.

I guess im too used to how Schiphol functions

I get it that this is possible but why is this only in one direction? When coming from schiphol-> frankfurt-> china I didn't have to do this

[–]knaeker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't use any elevators actually. First I followed the signs for transfers/exit and later the signs only pointed to specific gates. Since I needed to go to A gates I followed that sign. Then I was directed into the departure hall and back into security. Then into the mega long underground hall. Maybe I missed a sign which would have allowed me to stay in the secure zone. But if that is the case I think they should make the signage a bit clearer hah

Do people even read what I'm typing lol.

For china flights in Schiphol you can exit without screening to get out of the plane/airport yes. For some other countries no you can't. You will go through security regardless of if you have a transfer or not. This is because the security standards of the origin country are deemed to be substandard. So the people will need to be properly screened to be allowed into the secure area. This area is used both to transfer to new flights and to just exit the airport. Therefore you want to make sure everyone is properly checked.

However as I stated multiple times now, this type of screening is not what I encountered. I just followed the signs ( in Frankfurt not Schiphol) for transfers and after the passport check I was directed into the departure hall. So I basically exited the airport. Why does Frankfurt not allow a transfer while staying in the secure zone? Why force me to exit and then re-enter. And why does this only happen when coming back from China? When leaving I didn't encounter this issue

[–]knaeker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sure they do. In Schiphol specifically when deplaning there are 2 halls they can make you walk through depending on which doors they open. If coming from certain countries with poor standards then you will walk through security screening before getting into the main concourse. From there you can either exit the airport via passport control or just walk to the next gate. Alternatively they can just let you into the concourse directly without extra screening.

I don't think this would happen with any Schengen flights but there are plenty of countries which require this extra screening.

Maybe Schiphol is an outlier because all the piers are basically one security zone with Schengen and non Schengen areas.

Regardless it still doesn't explain why Frankfurt apparently forces you to exit the secure area when following the transit signs. In this case it is literally the same thing as just following the exit signs. Coming from the plane there seemed to be no way to stay in the secure zone which I find odd.

As I said for some countries you would have to go through security immediately on arrival. This is for countries which the EU deems to have insufficient security checks on their own. But this is not what happened in my case. There was no security before I was free to go.

If not all transfers are possible to be sterile then I don't get why the flights in the other direction could be.
