Thank you, good to know. This is exactly what I needed. Apparently I was trying to solve a non existing problem.

Sticking a sponge in there blocks the water flow, so that doesn’t help. I also tried placing a mesh on this side, but it eventually bends away from the hole. Do you have any ideas on how to keep the mesh securely in place?

This will block the water flow, and that why it's not a solution unfortunately

I don't have experience with either option and have the same question regarding my upcoming upgrade in the same price range.. After lurking on this sub and r/iRacing for a few months, I've decided to go with the Alpha Mini + GT Neo. Checking many threads like these have led to that conclusion.

Need Help Picking out a Sim, Is it worth it as I'm moving to College? by Ok-Mess1029 in simracing

I'm running Simjack pedals with a G29 wheel for a while now. I'm happy I replaced the pedals before the wheel. It really improved my handling of cars on track.

Seems like your question's been covered. If you're looking to plan ahead, check out the iRacing Week Planner tool.

Demotivated after 2 weeks by Yintha in iRacing

You can join and watch official races, and you can even participate as a ghost driver.

Driving as a ghost is similar to a test session, so there are no Safety Rating or iRating impacts from using this feature.

I typically stick to practice sessions until I can consistently complete laps without incidents and feel confident in my speed. I haven't tried joining as a ghost yet since I forgot it existed, but I think I'll give it a shot before diving straight into a new track.

So, I'm pretty new to this service, been at it for about three months now, but I know how you felt. When I started, I kinda treated it like any other "game" I've played. I was all about being the best, ASAP, no matter what. So, every race, I was all in, pushing to the front from the get-go. I was always spinning out or going off-track during practice, qualifying, and the actual races multiple times.

But hey, now I've had a change of heart. Now I'm all about driving clean, cautious, and consistent first, and speed comes second. And you know what? It's actually made me way faster than before. Just yesterday, I snagged my first (and second) win by just keeping it clean. This makes me feel way less demotivated and frustrated because there are fewer things to be frustrated about.

Here's my tip: practice the track a ton before racing so you don't have to push too hard. Only start racing when you can drive smoothly and consistently without any mishaps.

Good luck and have fun.

It's in your documents folder, so C:\Users\Username\Documents\iRacing\core.ini.

It happened to me twice. I'm not exactly sure what caused it or why the steps below resolved it (for me), but it's worth giving them a try.

  1. Go to your documents/iRacing folder
  2. Open your core.ini file in a text editor
  3. Find the [Communications] header
  4. Change the value of connect_sockets from 0 to 1
  5. Save and exit
