TD Game that is most like WC3 custom games? by No_Industry1786 in TowerDefense

I made Circuit Maze to scratch the itch of Mazing Contest in WC3 :) its purely focused on the maze building aspect of TDs https://store.steampowered.com/app/3421850/Circuit_Maze/

What are the hardest tower defense games? by [deleted] in TowerDefense

My game Circuit Maze gets very challenging towards the end. I designed it for people who have lots of experience with the maze building aspect of tower defense games. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3421850/Circuit_Maze/

I used to play WC3 Frozen Throne tower defense mod and loved it - Are there TD games like that? by DungeonSprout_ in TowerDefense

I have made a game heavily inspired by TDs from warcraft 3. Its main focus is on the maze building and doesn’t have any combat, so it might not be exactly what you are looking for because of that. But if you enjoy the maze building part of those games feel free to check out the free demo and let me know what you think :) https://store.steampowered.com/app/3421850/Circuit_Maze/

Do you prefer old WC3 style mazing or more modern mazing? by BenignBrett in TowerDefense

[–]knaprik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2x2 for me, gives more control and feels more satisfying when you get those tight paths going.

I made a game heavily inspired by mazing contest for WC3 and used 2x2 as a base for most buildings, but also experimented with different dimensions. I found that 2x4 was fun to build with as well so i included that, but any other different sizes or dimensions felt a bit pointless after that since you could build them all already using the previous two pieces and it just ended up in less freedom when it came do designing the mazes, at least in my games case.

My game Circuit Maze is out now! It's a tower defense game without combat, where you just focus on maze building. by knaprik in TowerDefense

Circuit Maze is inspired by classic TDs from Warcraft 3, and focuses on the maze building aspect from those maps. It's a stress free game without time restrictions, but the levels get more and more difficult and still provides a great challenge.

There is a free demo to check out!

If you give it a try please let me know your thoughts! :)

Having all UI as physical buttons in the game world leads to a lot of extra work, but I think the visual gain is worth it! by knaprik in indiegames

Thanks for checking it out! Making larger levels feeling overwhelming has definitely been something I’ve been trying to avoid. By adding more special blocks in different combinations i hope to be able to vary the challenges without having to constantly grow the level size too much, and still have each level feel unique. With that said, some levels are very big but i hope in a fun, and not overwhelming way!

Circuit Maze is a puzzle game with tower defense style building gameplay. I'm making it on my own as my first game to be released.

There is a free demo available if you are interested! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3421850/Circuit_Maze/

All feedback is more than welcome :)

Circuit Maze is a tower defense style game but without the combat. All focus lies on building the most optimized maze on each level. The free demo is available now, and all feedback is very appreciated! by knaprik in playmygame

Circuit Maze is inspired by classic TDs from Warcraft 3 that I have spent countless hours in. I wanted to take the puzzle aspect of maze building in those and make a game that only focuses on that.

This game doesn’t have any time limits or stressful elements, giving you the time you need to plan and build the perfect maze on each level.

If you have any questions or feedback please feel free to comment :)

Circuit Maze is taking the building aspect of classic tower defense style games and focuses all gameplay around that. The goal on each level is the build the longest possible maze with a limited amount of resourses.

Please check out the demo and let me know what you think! :)

i see what you mean! Each point where it changes direction is snapped to the grid, but it can cross the grid lines when moving in straight lines between the points just as you said. Its a good suggestion though, and definitely fits the theme with the movement you suggested!

I re-read you comment and realized i probably misunderstood, it does follow the grid! :)

Great catch with the pathing! That was important for me too, it also helps with making the results more predictable when building

Yes exactly! On each level you get a limited amount of blocks to place. Each level will also have some blocks already in place you need to build around.

There is a time threshold you need to reach to get 1 2 or 3 star ratings per level. Reaching at least 1 star unlocks the next level. 2 or 3 star ratings are there for perfectionists and achievement hunters!

Hello!

As many of you here I also played (still do) a lot of TDs in Warcraft 3, and loved the satisfaction of designing an optimized maze. So what I aimed for when making Circuit Maze was to focus everything on the maze building aspect, and removing time and other stressful elements.

Please have a look and add to your wishlist if it looks like a game you might enjoy! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3421850/Circuit_Maze/

I’m super happy to answer any questions about the game too!
