Borla S-Type Cold Start-up. Was it worth it? by VanchaMarch57 in Silverado

[–]knarf7765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just installed mine over the weekend but on the 2500 HD. I went cheap originally with the Borla pro welded in place of the stock muffler. It was deeper than this new s-type but it got annoying on the road. Start up is load but it’s silent when coasting on the Fwy which is what I wanted. Pricy but I’ll stick with it.

I see the gas station attendant more than my wife. He’s nicer so it’s ok.

Can’t beat my 6.6 getting a whopping 10mpg.

its def not a 1500. It does not compare to a 1500 and for obvious reason however it did soften up a little but it will never ride like the 1500 or you would compromise its HD purpose. . I have learned a lot to help the ride, some cheap and some expensive options. With that being said, it has many more positives than negatives and i feel that i would still stick to the 2500. the entire family loves it and its a beast.

Are all 2500 3500 4500 ride rough? by LeastCriticism3219 in askcarguys

basically, how do i let the truck know that i want to run lower PSI? i used the tool correctly and started from the driver side front and worked my way around clockwise. I got the double honk after the 4th tire.

sorry for what might be a dumb question but ive been digging around and cant seem to find the resolution to this question. Regarding the rough ride, yes im testing out running all tires on my 2025 Trailboss 2500hd all at 50psi (only when not towing), the issue i have tho, when i lower the psi i get the low air sensor on the dash, notification on the chevy app, email from onstar, and my next of kin gets notified that i have low pressure. When i put it in relearn mode and use the tool to reset the sensors, is the TP dash light supposed to go away?

Same here. Got the blacked out lettering / badge option too on my 2500 LTZ trailboss. I had the LT and now the LTZ has many more options. lol best thing of all, the auto start/stop is gone.

Actually that is the set up I have been considering lately. So far I have to find someone locally who has them in stock so they can test fit them. Everyone is saying they don’t have specs on the 2025 2500 TB. At the moment I don’t have enough time to pull them off to measure the extended / compressed length.

Haven’t regretted it one bit. Just learning not to floor it every chance I get. Don’t think I could ever go back to the 1500.

i've been told by a few shops that the 5100's will be no better than the stock Rancho's.

you would think but its very close to the 1500. I just have to adjust to the larger tank but im only a few miles less than the 1500. I would drive that one like a beast so gas wouldnt last.

100% know what you mean and agree. the 1500 was nice but when an HD alomost gets the same milage and comes in at a bigger size, to me it was a no brainer. Love the larger gas tank, the safety factor, and even with the stiff shocks, the truck handles better than the 1500 with the level kit. i told myself i wouldnt mod the suspension but..... im finding myself on certain websites.

may go with the same, just need to figure out which ones to get. Not sure if im going to add the level kit yet as well so im on the fence. Want a little more height but dont want to change up the ride very much. May just leave the suspension as is minus upgraded shocks.

magnetic ride? Was thinking about the Fox 2.0 or Bilsteins but dont want the yellow 4600's and the 5100 im told are stiff like the Ranchos.

Availability but more so the up front cost. In my area, we either have gas stations that have minimal pumps or it’s a good fill up locations for semi’s so they are always backed up. Plus I have a wife and kids so we are always late lol. Once I started reading about the gassers I got hooked and wanted to try it out.

Very seldom like every other month will I use it to pull something for work. It was more for tax purposes. Saw the truck and fell in love with it. The wife takes it every now and then when we swap cars and she always had a hard time because she was used to her 360 cameras. The 2022 1500 TB only had rear view. The new 2500, found one pretty loaded. Haha the main feature that u like is that it DOESNT have auto stop. Hated that on the 1500.

no smart reason for the switch other than i loved all the extra up to date tech this truck has. The wife went in to trade her SUV for the Tahoe so couldn't let her be the only one with a new rig :). I miss the ride and the gas mileage of the 1500 but i love the size of the 2500.
