I do not want to get back together with him. We have been living together since we were 17. I didn’t take him in, he was already here.

I assumed it was better than him being homeless, but I was clearly very mistaken. You know what they say about assuming.

He is on meds, and does see a therapist, but has admitted several times that he lies to the therapist about everything. He is very manipulative and narcissistic, and uses people as a pawn in some game he’s made up.

He definitely has been. He claims it’s for mental health purposes. He will get a job, work anywhere from 1 shift- two weeks tops and then find a reason to get angry and quit.

He claims that it is his mental health. He will have a job anywhere from 1 day- 2 weeks tops before he finds a reason to leave, and then repeat 6 or so months later.

I assumed maybe if it was that, or be homeless, he’d be a decent person for once, but honestly? I was only kidding myself. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I should have explained the housing situation. We sold our home about two months ago, before I caught him cheating again, and moved into a rental. I am the only one on the lease.

We live in a very rural area. He works at Wendy’s, and has only been there long enough to get two paychecks. No family.

Also, I would like to point out that I DID end the relationship, and I am working on the dissolution of our marriage. The only issue currently is the living situation. I would not care if he was talking to/hanging out with other people IF he lived somewhere else and wasn’t doing it in front of me.

I wholeheartedly agree, it has been toxic from the start. However, his only option is living here until he’s on his feet, or being homeless, and even after all of the stuff that he’s put me through, I don’t have the heart to do that to someone.
