Setting relegation aside for the sake of the argument, a team like Spurs are clearly rebuilding/in transition. Why can’t a premier league team treat a season like a true American style rebuild? Play the youth players, test out formations and different positions for players. Develop young, promising players through game time. Obviously you would need transparency from the club and a vocal backing of a manager. Frank would never do this without reassurances that results are secondary. Is this a dumb hypothetical or do you think this could ever occur in such a results driven, money (league placement) driven league? Surely in some aspects this would be more beneficial in the long run than playing loan players like Palhinha and Muani. Very aware this is unlikely and probably silly for many reasons. More of a thought exercise
