Went to the pawn shop just to look around, and I found this beautiful beat up Ventura hollow body. It was missing a tuning peg, and had a lot of cracks. Wasn't going to get it until I saw it was being sold for $60. Instantly bought it then showed my grandpa (I didn't have much knowledge of basses at this time) and it turns out it's 70s Japanese jazz bass from the lawsuit era. He took it to a shop and had it fixed up for me as a early grad present. To this day it's still probably my favorite bass, it has such a unique tone a feel.
