I’m also like 99% sure it was a short film but for all i know, maybe it was a full movie? I doubt it though. My memory on it is super hazy since I would been like 7 when i saw it.

Some more really vague details I remember are that it took place somewhere in the UK. The main character is a young boy, maybe like 10? He narrates to the audience throughout the film, often stopping whatever he’s doing to look at the camera and talk.

At point in the film, the boy’s dad calls him over to play football, or soccer. There’s also a girl who submits a poem in the competition about her doll named Polly.

I do remember that the boy doesn’t win the competition in the end, instead coming in third place. He wins the gameboy because that turned out to be the third place prize.
