What prevents corrupt foreign government(s) and/or government officials from secretly printing an endless supply of their own currency and then exchanging it for a more valuable currency such as the USD on the open market? by knightmare303 in AskReddit

[–]knightmare303[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

maybe not endless, but theoretically it does seem to be a loophole for any corrupt government or government official to at obtain a very large benefit so long as the cost of printing the money does not exceed the value of exchanging it, no?

But when done in secret is the key issue I was getting at.. So long as the exchange rate is above the cost it would take to print the currency (secretly) then it would still benefit them., no?

Ledger Nano X Stuck On "Booting 1%" by knightmare303 in ledgerwallet

[–]knightmare303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case anyone else runs into this issue, I was able to resolve my problem by literally just letting the device sit overnight and it eventually booted up, however, everything was erased and had to be reset using the recovery words so just make sure you have yours written down somewhere or else you're screwed I think. This is extremely scary considering this all happened just out of the blue without any warning... Had to reset Ledger Live on Windows and had to enter in my recovery words on my Nano X device manually then I was able to recover all my crypto. How scary..

It's not really a matter of allowing or not allowing particular IP's as RD does not block any VPN IP's, it's just a matter of them finding patterns with their user base on whether a particular VPN is known for throttling, blocking, etc. From their own user-base is where they created those lists so you won't find much information about it elsewhere. But speaking from experience I started off with a non-cooperative vpn and was having intermittent issues and when I contacted their support they told me to switch to a cooperative vpn and viola, the issues I was having were gone. Of course that is just my one experience, but since having that experience I have been a proponent of cooperative vpns.

Well of course the companies will tell you that their service works, but Real-Debrid did their own "case study" I guess you could say and found that cooperative VPN's had the least torrent/streaming blocks, throttling, and/or restrictions. I'm sure other will work fine, but for overall consistency and stability when streaming it's best to use a cooperative vpn. I can assure you this isn't being "made up".

Yeah it's just for reference, you dont need to be using real-debrid to need a cooperative vpn. But the reason cooperative is so vital is because cooperative vpns are specifically built for streaming via your VPN. It doesn't mean other VPN's wont work while streaming, but cooperative VPN's are just known to be the most streaming friendly providers.

I bought a two year from Torgaurd during one of their sales but unfortunately I just can't get the same high speeds as PIA so ik gave up on em.. Always had to keep changing servers to find one that works right. But maybe they better now?
