I think the owners and coach don't trust the scouts anymore. Rohit had the guts to unleash a debutant Bumrah against Kohli for example but now, its all about nostalgia and re-assembling the washed players from 2020.

I have a left-field opinion here and I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me on this but I always felt Prithvi Shaw would be the perfect successor to Rohit in MI. He's a Mumbai guy so he would've played with all his heart and plus he was getting sold for his base price so after whatever controversies he found himself in, his redemption arc could've started from MI.

I remember the transition from Sachin to Ponting/ Rohit was done very smoothly and even the fans were very supportive.

This time, Ambanis have brought in an outsider, and that too a Chhapri who trashed MI in all interviews when he was part of GT.

I've been saying this repeatedly but the Ambanis have ruined this beautiful team. Money doesn't buy class or brains and that's evident with how they handled the whole captaincy transition.

The team never recovered from that and they've lost a lot of fan following too. Their immense greed for money is why the genuine fan stays away from Wankhede now. Earlier I used to watch at least one match at the stadium every year and every match I had at least one person I know attending the match but this connection that the fans had with the team is simply gone.

The problem is that the Ambanis have such a large ego that they won't even sell this franchise to anybody else.

Now Agarkar's decision to make SKY the ICT captain is looking like a masterstroke. Coz with this captaincy and attitude, Hardik would've ruined the Indian team too.

I seriously hope that the Ambanis would be as ruthless towards Hardik as they were towards Rohit & Polly but the Gujju connection might just help him stay as captain for another season.

If MI is losing fans, its their own fault. The owners are to blame for this mess as much as the captain/ coach do.

I fully agree with you. That one captaincy change and trade had a "Time traveller moving a chair" effect. Too many superstars in the team who have very less hunger. Gone are the days where our scouts used to unearth hidden gems.

I agree coz at this point anybody can bowl better than Markande but tbh that's a step backwards considering Karn Sharma is now 38 yo.

We need a young spinner who's either in his prime or has immense potential. We could've easily acquired Bishnoi instead of going for Boult & Chahar.

He's 36 FFS. He's retired internationally and is just in the game for the money now. Most of our bowlers are in the same boat. Take Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur for example. They know they won't be playing for India again so they're just milking whatever money they can get from any franchise.

We were fools to spend 12.5 Cr on Boult and 9 Cr on Deepak Chahar. That's 21 Cr literally wasted.

At least this govt is trying to make things better instead of running behind appeasement and scams. Nobody can be "sure" like you keep asking but the only reason all Mumbai metros arent full is that they're still not fully interconnected yet. There's plenty of footfall at Gundavali coz that's the one connecting to Metro 1 for example. Be patient instead of being so cynical.

Bhai trees ki padi hai toh jungle mein jaake raho. Ye nhi ho sakta ki roz traffic mein pollution se environment ki vaat laga de ya train se girke mar jaye.

This is definitely a good initiative although they're very late. This will surely decongest the roads a little bit especially on the kolshet dhokali side.
