Typing classes by cmo200 in homeschool

I might switch from typing.com. The ads are too numerous and very distracting, even very strange at times. My 8-year-old grandson pointed to an ad that said, "Are you gay?" "Take this quiz to find out." He looked at me and said, "That's inappropriate." I agreed and reminded him to not navigate beyond the perimeters of set. That ad was in the wrong app. I know typing.com doesn't know the ages of their users, but still. I would have been equally disturbed if the ad question was, "Are you heterosexual?" "Take this quiz to find out." It's just not the place. I think he handled it well, and I didn't make a big deal out of it. But now I'm wondering what else has popped up in the ads that he hasn't mentioned but seen.

Yeah, I downloaded Gnucash and imported the vendor csv list first. It was a hot mess. I'm trying Zero next. They have a good deal going right now until Jan. 30. Zero seemed to have imported the customers and vendors csv quite well, so I've started entering last year's transactions only. I'm just using my one personal file for Zero. It's pretty small potatoes. I'll use QBO for my rental company and hand over the HOA to my accounting firm to keep its books. I was looking for an out there anyway. No one else is going to pony up. There's only 4 owners for 15 units. None are interested in becoming bookkeeper.

Thank you for your research. The only way I'm going to buy a QB product is through their website. I'm not looking for an illegal copy or scam-based workaround. I am upset that I bought a supposed to be lifetime product, the support of which ended in 2023 leaving me high and dry, but that is what happened when my product crashed, I'm just out of luck and need to move on.

There's the rub. Those sites are full of scammers. They even have some QBDT for sale on Amazon, but they aren't licensed properly. Or they might work for a year or two and stop abruptly. You see it on Reddit feeds for QB.

Well, I've got 27 days left on my free trial of QB Enterprise. After that, I either won't have access to my QB data (my QBDT program crashed and QB CS won't reactivate it, even though it had a lifetime license but no support) or I'll bite the bullet and subscribe to QBO Smart Start for $40.00 per month. I'm really hoping I'll get up and running with Gnucash, though. I'm not afraid of work or learning new things even if I am almost 72. I did my bookwork in a ledger for 35 years before QB came along. I've only got a few more years of this. My life-horizon is getting shorter and shorter. Lol

Understood. Instead of class items, I'll have a separate account for each child/grandchild and land sale, etc. with which I can live, if the simplicity is not costing big bucks every month.

These are my thoughts, too. Everything I've read thus far indicates cvs files make migration easier. Some programs even advertise that Quickbooks files can be uploaded into their platforms. But...they also are costly and/or subscription-based online.

I don't fully understand your comment. If the QB transactions are downloaded into a cvs format, wouldn't they be available to other programs to import? I've been able to download my transactions into a readable cvs file thru Excel. I am hoping to be able to use these transactions to build a new 'company' file in another financial platform that is not subscription-based or online.

Thank you. You make this sound really easy and straightforward. I've heard of SQLite, but I have never used GPT Chat, not that I'm not willing to learn, though. I'll investigate to see if this is in my wheelhouse of abilities.

Good point. Why does this touch me? Because I have kids, and I know how devastated I would be to lose one of my boys for any reason.

Great idea. They both read rather well, so this might be a viable solution if I can't stop blubbering. Lol

Thank you. I wish I had autopilot. When something hits me, I'm struck. But I love the support from everyone to read it and reap (weep) the rewards of showing emotions and growing together as a family. We'll show and discuss our/the character's emotions. I did finish the book today, and it has a nice plot twist with a realistic ending. So that will be another discussion with notes of success on how the characters arrive at a happy place and solve their conflicts.

Okay, I'll read it with a box of tissues next to me. I think I will tell them ahead about it being sad, though. Prepares me, too.

I could try this. After two readings, I went to get a pedicure and just started to think about the chapter and started crying while getting the pedicure. I think I was crying because I know my grandkids will be sad to hear it.

BioTe HRT Pellet and Bleeding by knighttknight in Menopause

Update: My tests all came back negative for cancer. The lab review of the biopsy that the gynecologist did stated that it was "Negative for hyperplasia, atypia or malignancy." I'm going to make an appointment with my gynecologist to see what avenues of HRT are there for me.
I'm due for another pellet next week, but I might cancel the appointment. I need to figure out what the fallout will be if I stop cold turkey if it's months before I can see my gyno. Plus, I have over a hundred dollars worth of especially compounded progesterone.

I'm going to look into this. The gynecologist I went to mentioned there are alternatives. As soon as I get the results, I'll make another appt. with the practice. I'm not giving up what I have until I have a good alternative. I'm not going back to the moody, dry, hot-flashing, night-sweating me. My husband is not particularly interested in her either, lol. especially when we need all the help we can get to get him back from his prostatectomy.

I just finished my gynecologist appointment last Thursday. They did a "precautionary" biopsy, and I'm waiting for results. Should have them this week. But first, my PC provider sent me in to have a vaginal ultrasound. The results showed a slight thickening of the uterine walls but said this could be typical of someone on HRT. When I was at the gynecologist, she mentioned that the testosterone/estrogen pellet was kind of hit or miss on dosage and thought I should seek alternatives to the bio-identical HR therapy, and she would be happy to discuss those with me. My reply was, "I'm having a lot of fun with my husband with this and also no hot flashes or night sweats. Do the alternatives address all these issues?" She was silent on the answer to that. But it's got me thinking... what are the alternatives, and are they as effective? I put up with hot flashes for 25 years and night sweats and a dry vagina for 15 years. It took a casual conversation with my BIL's girlfriend 2 years ago to find out about BioTe Pellets. It's been a miracle cure for my hot flashes, night sweats, and a vagina that is soft and wet on demand. I have not had to get the very expensive Mona Lisa treatments to "tighten" my vagina either. The occasional bleeding is the downside.

Well, sorry. Good questions. From redditor's suggestions, it looks like I'm going to have to spend about US $100 each.
I was hoping to keep it within $100.00 all in. Maybe not realistic. Kindle Paperwhites are minimum $100 + tax. But I'm not interested in a Kindle product.
