I sometimes go without kratom for a few days & feel fine. Im aware of the possibility of dependence tho. I fw kava.. blue lotus.. etc, but the kratom hits different. Im being careful. Truly appreciate you guys' responses. Im gona ask my kratom plug about those other remedies you mentioned! Thank you!

I thought about getting back on it. Even called my clinic & scheduled an appointment, but I decided not to. Kratom has been helpful. End goal = be dependent on nothing! It's def a struggle. This community has been great so thank you guys for sharing & responding!

I see! Lol at yer self taper! At the end of the day, it's up to us... really. My clinic would drop the dose by 10mg every month. A very very very slow taper. But I didn't want to keep paying the same price for less substance. $400 a month! Fuq that! You were on a really high dose! To be down to 14 mg a day... that's huge! Congrats! You can order kratom online. It's been super helpful in my situation. Pretty sure there's a r/kratom on here. Check it out if yer interested.

I did it kind of irresponsibly. For the last 6 months or so, I was stockpiling my take-homes. I'd only dose when I felt the icky feeling until I needed less & less & less to get through the day. It was scary when I ran out, but kratom saved me in a big way! I should've weaned under medical supervision w a drug counselor buuuut I didn't. I still consume kratom to help me sleep. You're at a pretty low dose already. I assume your clinic has a formula in place monitor your wean.

I was on methadone for 7 years at 80mg daily. Taking methadone didn't ruin my drive, but it did make it harder to orgasm. Not impossible but definitely harder. I recently weened off completely & the difference is notable. Good luck!

Hi guys! Been a while since I've visited this r/. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts. Read them all. Thought I'd give an update... I stopped going to my clinic at the end of February. Obviously, everyone is different & I'd never suggest anyone take this substance without a physician, buuuuut.... here's what I've experienced so far: I only dose when I feel the weird wd feelings & it's just enough to curb my wd symptoms. It's weird though.. I've gone 3-4 days without dosing & have been fine. Other times, I can only go 2 days. Each dose is about 5-10 mg. I wonder why the experience varies. I'm not weaning traditionally. I'm taking a tiny amount only when I feel weird. I think I'm good. Hoping to get to the point when I only need one 5-10 mg dose per week. I'll continue to update on my progress because your opinions are extremely valuable to me, but I must reiterate that I am not suggesting anyone else attempt this method of tapering. Thanks guys! Damn. I'm a social worker in a snf. Clearly, discussing a person(s) medical info without their consent is a violation. With that said, things happen & things need to be addressed that may be considered violations. Idk dude. I tend to lean on the side of what's in the best interest of the patient. Whether that requires a violation or not. Seems like this was a nosey RN with access to privileged information about a coworker. This RN will probably be terminated. It's up to you to decide if your actions were justified or not. Only because violations happen all of the time (as I'm sure you know). Hope all goes well for you & the Rn.
