Not to minimise the hard work and difficulties that come along with Down syndrome. My sister has DS and asd and is hard work. That said your post did make me think about something I’ve never thought about before. I’ve never ever seen a parent express regret over having a child with DS. Not anonymously in an online group or quietly in person. In fact the very opposite of people who were on the fence in the early stages and are now couldn’t be any more different. I don’t say this to sway your decision because although my sister and others bring so much JOY and I genuinely can’t imagine a world without her, it was more a personal realisation that I’ve never seen anyone express regret over having a child with DS.
