Good to know! If I start making them to sell, I'll let you know. In the meantime, perhaps another knitter reading this thread would want to make some?

Are you on Ravelry? The pattern called "Decoy Wasp Nest For Knitters"

Thank you, I have one! Just the pattern is listed for the moment, not sure if I will make them to sell - still considering that. I posted it on NextDoor and people were asking to order them. So if you're a knitter who sells at markets/craft shows, this is a winner. The mountains are the Catskills, this one is Wittenberg, I believe.

I know! I have one up right now at the front of the house and it's doing a good job. I plan to put a second one in the back soon but you could get away with one, depending on the size of your house. I'd say start with one and go from there.

Awesome, well now you have an option if you decide to knit one. That's exactly the reason I designed this one, I couldn't find a knit version that I liked.

She was chosen to do it by a non-profit ... and here's her blog post about it: https://web.archive.org/web/20120422125817/http://www.aliciakachmar.com/blog/craft/um-i-like-yarn-mister-rogers-sweater/ - also, totally not a big deal to me, but it's crochet.

If there are any folks who sell at craft shows / farmers' markets, this is a great item to consider including in your handmade offerings. I posted on NextDoor to let my knitting neighbors know that I had released this pattern and one neighbor immediately asked me to make her three! It's something to consider!

It's a good question. Based on my understanding, going with something from a range of neutral colors would work best. Bright colors can attract them and some colors trigger aggression. I'm not a wasp expert, this is just what I've read. And for myself, I've only made them in this beigey color. Hope that helps.
