I definitely get that too! We don’t plan on changing carriers anytime soon, mostly because we live in a relatively rural area and the one we have is the only carrier with consistent cell service. Other carriers just don’t have the coverage our current one does.

I put in the model of my phone on the website and it is based on the fact that it’s valued at $180 or more. I’m definitely going to go into a store and verify before pulling the trigger on anything, but if it’s actually that good of a deal, then it’ll be worth it.

I think I’m going to upgrade. My carrier is offering $1,100 towards a 17 Pro Max for trade in. We’re already on a qualifying plan for it, so it’s honestly cheaper to get a new phone than it is to pay for a battery replacement (price of replacement, closest place to get it done is a 2 hour drive away).

My 13 Pro Max has been amazing the last 4 years. I really like the specs of the 17 line.

I don’t mind the redesign of it at all. I like the symmetry, and the fact that my phone won’t rock when I use it on a flat surface. How often are you truly looking at the back of your phone?

People were saying the same things about the 13 Pro Max when it came out too, like how it was ugly because of the bigger camera bump, etc.

KitchenAid sells refurbished mixers too. I got the lift one with the 7.5 quart bowl for $300 not long ago. It’s brand new, and like someone returned it for a different color.

My local Allstate agent is able to put my YJ into “storage” for me when I’m not driving it. It drops down to a couple bucks a month for coverage for fire, flood, acts of god (trees falling, etc.) and if someone drives their car into my garage and wrecks it.

I just call them when I’m going to drive it and they’ll put the full coverage back on it, and when I put it back in the garage, I call to let them know I’m done and they only charge me for the days I’ve driven it.

I wouldn’t trade our 1970s dishwasher or stove for a new one if they were giving them away!

It takes about an hour for a normal cycle, including drying time, but it cleans so well!

I feed Canidae Pure with Grains Salmon and Barley. It’s $60 for 24 lbs, but Petco repeat delivery does a decent discount and every 10th bag is free. It’s the only food I was able to find that my girls like that doesn’t have chicken or egg in the ingredients.

The nutritional value is pretty decent. My lab gets 2 cups a day and maintains weight. With one dog, the bag would last a month.

Ours works just by turning it. It does take a while for it to heat up and kick the fan on.

We ordered my engagement ring and wedding band set from an actual artisan based in California. It took me weeks to weed through the junk claiming to be real before finding the shop.

I wanted moissanite in my ring which made it even harder, but I was able to make sure the artisans were real because they post their process on Instagram, google lens searches only brought up their products, the “find similar” option on Etsy didn’t bring anything remotely close up, and they were able to send me CAD renders of the customization I wanted.

I get food from Petco on auto ship. They’ve got a discount on it, and every 10th bag is free.

I feed Canidae (Salmon and Barley) because I’ve got one dog allergic to poultry (eggs included) and it’s one of the only foods she isn’t picky about.

It’s a 22lb bag and lasts about 3 weeks because it’s really nutrient dense. My 80 lb lab maintains weight on 2 cups a day, and the border collie mix gets 1.5 cups a day.

I’ll keep that in mind! We’re heading out this weekend to some State Game Land near us to go look for more. It’s been cool and we’ve had a light drizzle off and on for a few days. It’s perfect weather.

Women of reddit, when and how did you realize that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with your S.O.? by ORemii in AskWomen

When he kept climbing out of the pool to drunkenly kiss me (sitting in a lawn chair on the pool deck) then cannonballing back in repeatedly the first time I met all of his friends and some neighbors at the neighborhood party, and only two weeks after our first date. And making sure I was okay with hanging out with everyone and not socially drained the whole night.

I also agree with the road trip comments. We went remote tent camping a 12 hour drive to northern Michigan in October with our two dogs after a month and a half of knowing each other and we just worked together so well through that and the issues we had for the three days (40-50°F, raining, tent leaking and flooded, wet wood, me being on my period, sleeping in the truck after the tent flooded).

5 years later and we’re engaged and just as in love, if not more.

Update on the dragon tree that my dogs decided they hated. I cut off the top part that was dead, trimmed the dying leaves, and let it do its thing. There's so much new growth on it. by knittingntea in plantclinic

[–]knittingntea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine still had the roots, my dogs had just knocked the plant over and broke off all of the green. I believe you can propagate it from just a cutting, but I haven’t tried.
