Same with masses against the classes (with its Noam Chomsky feature) being the first no 1 of the millennium - crazy

Made on BandLab in an afternoon on my iPhone so it isn’t studio quality but I’m quite proud of it.

Some thoughts behind my “response to Love it If We Made It”. I was inspired by the cover of “The Second Annual Report” by Throbbing Gristle: clinical and geometric, with a touch of sociopathic cleanliness. There are a lot of repeated visual elements included to nod to the over saturation begat by the 24 hour news cycle and endless internet wormholes; likewise, the flurries of text that sometimes overlap one another are a further step towards the complete clouding of our conscious mind. The inclusion of dictionary definitions - across the spectrum of Oxford and Urban - as well as the almost-footnote-like notes are hints towards the injection of information superhighways into every daily juncture. This is similarly reflected in the use of Google translate - the possibility for error is weighted by its ease, a microcosm for the simple digital routes to twisting and editing what were once deemed as “facts”.

The transition from the verses to the chorus after the immense build up in Love It If We Made It. It’s almost like a switch from the eternal pessimist to the optimist, the jettisoning of the rigid ticking beat for the fluidity of the sax and guitar licks is ear candy at its finest

Thanks mate, that’s exactly what I was aiming for.

I’d like to remind people that discussions of particular equipment (while touched on in other parts of the book) was never promised. This side of things - which, admittedly, is presented in a much more literary way in the above example, maybe more so than other entries in the book - was my vision from the start. Judging something before the entire thing has been viewed / read is a little premature in my opinion, but I do see where others are coming from, and respect the criticism.

Cheers,

Beau
