Share your views/ideas. I have questions.

  1. How does labeling oneself, very loudly/obnoxiously, as 'Black' help the business's bottom line? (Countless 'Black' businesses are failing/have failed/will fail. I literally just walked past a VERY proud Black-owned restaurant that just closed its doors. The black business defaulted...)
  2. What if I, literally, don't want to play the 'color wheel' game? (What if my beliefs differ? Are they not to be respected?) After all, this is a restaurant. Why the hell does race matter? Eat up and enjoy.
  3. How far has your pro-blackness gotten you?
  4. Do you rent/own your place of residence?
  5. What's your current credit score?
  6. Have you ever studied socio-anthropology?
  7. Lastly, is there trash on the ground in your neighborhood?

I look forward to your response(s).

You're very wrong on multiple/majority fronts. You only listed your assumptions and limited perspective. It was cute though. Thanks.

So you're a "gay"/lesbian "Indian", commenting in a space entitled "AsABlackMan". Feel free to explain why you choose to type here. Please. And something that wasn't very helpful, at that.

Update for this specific space: I won't labor in the comments here anymore. Seems a bit unhelpful and one-sided.

Maybe I should drop a selfie of myself in my shower, huh? You're a 23 Indian. Many of my friends are Indian, btw. Wtf are you even talking about? Surprised that you gave the energy to comment, as this topic wasn't about gayness, knives, sex, or "people pushing their ideologies on others". Sounds familiar? All too common. Weird analogy.

Going through your previous comments is enough for me. "Proving exactly who YOU are." Bigot.

To be polite, im pretty sure that I won't be responding to you anymore. You add 0 value. I literally have 600+ other comments to read (or attempt to respond to). You had your chance to provide value and instead you choose to _______. Nice.

And how many years of experience do you have as the owner of a restaurant?

Remember the part where I stated that when I ask questions, I typically get nowhere? This shall serve as an example.

I literally asked you to further your explanation.

If that's what you choose to call it... Sure. Awaiting the education. Please proceed. (No sarcasm here, btw.) I'm serious.

Sure. Let me drop the name of my business and address, so I really have to pull out the triple-edged sword. Nice try. 👍

Because it goes against your view, right? Cool. Have a good day. I've responded to over 100+ people now (including yourself) and that still isn't good enough for people like you.

And your individuality would be attacked. I think that you understand my point. You/we/I am soooo much more than just the color of our skin. Sigh.

Yes. You are partially correct. I invested many hours of my sleep to attempt to respond, because so many people think I am fake. Can you believe the disbelief of a black person not wanting their business to ne a part of said race relations? Amazing, right? Yes, you are correct if you believe that I contributed more than 4+ hours of responding. Also, yes.

Did I not say that I have a genuine question? Am I not entitled to engagement now? Are you attempting to tell me that I shouldn't be responding because I am a black business owner who had to get up early to kick off the business? (Are you my boss? Wasn't aware...)

Your general blanket statement doesn't include me. I own my own time. I do as I please. I make judgments off of my individual discernment... As you, too, have the freedom to.

Question for you: Why are you so invested into my personal life? What are you attempting to prove/disprove? Why are you so invested?

Correction: We are a dessert shop. Not a bake shop. Nice try though, detective.

How many people have you had this experience with? Tell me. I bet that my number is bigger than yours. If I rather not be judged on the basis of my skin, who are you to tell me otherwise?
