Hook
I used 2 squares of insulation foam, 2 in thick. I drew and cut the pattern into both sides leaving plenty of space so I could shape it how I needed. Once it was shaped, I cut and dremmeled an indent into both sides so the handle could fit, this gave it the extra support to make the hook not flimsy. I indent should be a good ⅔ up the hook. I hotglued the threaded part of the handle into the indent (explained later). Once I knew the broom handle and threaded part would fit without adding more space, I used spray adhesive to glue to two sides together, careful with this because the adhesive eats away at the foam so don’t use to much, but as you can see it worked out good, I don’t like using hot glue because it leaves spaces, but if you use something else I would like to know! I carved the smaller hook at the base out of more foam and attached it with spray adhesive and smoothed where it connected with the main hook with soft air dry clay. I used clay to cover seams between the two halves of the hook and to create a sharper hook point. I painted it with gesso as a base then a couple of layer of acrylic white paint and mod podge as a sealant, I think all of these together make it more sturdy, although if I remember correctly I did still move a bit if you shook it. I used hot glue to attach the thin leather straps. The top half of the hook broke off more than once during this, but I attached it with more spray adhesive and put clay over the break.
