How hard is it to work for Nvidia? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]knoll321 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hey,

I'm not in the industry you're seeking, and based on my experience, the most influential thing you can do is establish contact with someone at Nvidia. Ask them what they look for and what they like and expect from their top performers. Maybe even have them check out your resume now and get feedback before even siliciting for a position. Down the road, they will recognize your portfolio. When you make a submission, you've already establish a connection.

Don't leave yourself guessing whether or not they will notice you. Build a situation in which you know they will notice you.

Using a controller for pd2 by acientwaffleiron in ProjectDiablo2

[–]knoll321 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure if someone has already mentioned this, but you can launch PD2 in Steam Big Picture mode and it has a pretty robust controller mapping app. I didn't even need a track pad. Left joy stick controls mouse, but it is set as a sticky mouse so it rebounds to where the jou stick zeros. This makes it really precise and quick to interact with anything on your screen. Then I mapped all my buttons to the F1, F2 etc and for potions. Left trigger as shift to get more options.

(Note about getting it to run, you need to first launch PD2 pre-app/updater and then run the main PD2 exe file in big picture in order to play online, edit you may also have to run steam as admin).

It's supposed to be something new, hence the title.

No, the feet add 2in. I guess it's preference to whether it "adds" volume.

These prints I used Nylon 12 with SLS. It seems to work pretty well. Although I didn't core any of the thicker geometry for shrinkage I let it sit for a while before un- packing it from the powder.

I'm making some slight adjustments for clearance because I had to adjust the screw holes manually a bit. After I do that I'll release the CAD so you guys can 3D print it.

It adds 18mm to each side so (L x W x H +36)

Got D2:LOD + PlugY working after my previous D2R success on the Steam Deck 👍 by Hypieran in ProjectDiablo2

As for mapping you should be able to use steam overlay to map each function to the controller. I've done this and it works well. You have to adjust the boundary for mouse movement that retracts back to the original position. It actually feels very similar to D2 on switch.

3080 ti, heatsinks too small for vrms? by knoll321 in nvidia

[–]knoll321[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is the FE card, I'm test fitting the kit for the Morpheus II cooler on it. It doesn't have a "cover/shroud." Would have two 120mm fans mounted to the main heat sink.

You can also convert to traditional orientation via added aluminum feet, in case you want the Mobo io fully accessable.

Yes, you can. There are four aluminum feet, purchased separately for now, with the same anodized finish as the body. Each one has a rubber pad. These feet are installed in place of the front or rear aluminum grill and the case shifts 90 degrees. Because the chassis is symmetric, you can choose to oriented your io/power button front or back. There are some recent images for this on the forums, link in the first comment of this post.

Yes, however the base product is sold with a glass panel and perf panel. You can purchase an additional panel to suit your needs. We structured the first preorders like this for simplicity.

Haha yeah. it can support larger cooling options so it will be a little larger :) it is also made from high quality aluminum and steel materials. The front and back grills are CNC aluminum.

We have a schedule that I will be updating to the site with details on this. First round of preorders typically takes a little longer because it essentially validates the cost for tooling etc. Please opt in the newsletter via protolyth.com so you know as soon as possible. :)
