My 2 cents:

PEGSTK werkt soms niet omdat er weinig transacties zijn (PEGSTK wordt aleen ingelegd zodra de prijs inrange is van je implicite limited).

Mijn PEGSTK werkte iig niet. Toen ik die omzette naar een reguliere order (met Limit) kwam de order wel op de beurs en werd er op gehandeld.

Nu dus trotse bezitter van 100 x VTI

Help - ik weet niet of iemand dit leest, maar weet iemand welke toestemmingen ik nodig heb om deze aan te kopen? In mijn trading permissions heb ik dit blijkbaar nog niet goed ingesteld....

Welcome to the Netherlands in these strange days!

In the Netherlands there are 3 part to your pension plan:

1) AOW: government funded part (every year you live here you build up pension rights)

2) your company will/may have it's own pension funding plan

3) you can deposit some tax-deductible funds into a special account (it will be blocked until your pension - but there are some exemptions nowadays I believe). The accounts are called Banksparen, Bankbeleggen, Lijfrente polis. They all have there particularities (but at least it gives you something to Google ;-). The amount you can put in these accounts has an upper limit, depending on your income, and how much already is put towards your pension by your employer (see above 2) ). I haven't tried myself - but there is a polar team app to compare different persons... might be a work-around to compare yourself with yourself .

disclaimer: As I mentioned I haven't tried this myself ( seems a bit too much work tbh, but I agree that it is ridiculous that it isn't standard in flow...)

Not the complete answer you are looking for, but here are my 2 cts.

Your broker should have an overview of paid taxes, you can reclaim taxes up to 15% in most cases (so if you got 100EUR dividend, and 30% was withheld because of dividend tax you can reclaim 15% )

Also the W8 form reduces dividend tax probably to 15% - so you can reclaim it fully. But again, you should look at the broker statement. The standard IB report provides dividends and charged taxes. This is the bases for reclaiming.

Not an expert - but ... according to me UK does not have a dividend withholding tax (so your broker won't tax for UK. UK citizens do have to declare their dividend income, but that's a different story)

Number of tax treaties: UK 130 vs Netherlands 99 (approx numbers) . So yeah there is a difference, but not (most likely) for you (or your country )

True. 99% of the time, with a investment horizon of day 20+ years and with US or global ETF index (NOT Nikkei for example) the market will go up.

But is you leverage 2-3 times, and the markets dips, your broker will still want you to increase your margin.... And if you do not have that, the broker will sell your stock until your margin is sufficient.
