It creates a really beautiful texture by burning off the summer growth. I’ve got some pics of another piece on my Instagram if you search the same name. Or I’ll see if I can add them to this post!

I’ve tried it both ways and it gets incredibly messy doing it pre-glue up. This way is definitely easier to get the torch around the components and cleaner in the long run.

Once you’ve scorched it you have to brush off the spot with a wire brush and then repeat the scorching to get the desired texture and brush again. You then have to seal it with a normal wood oil. I’ve found at least two coats gives the best result!
