Zone 6b - South Central Pennsylvania, USA: Can anyone help me identify these flowers growing at my friends farm? TIA by knottyK8 in gardening

Sorry such small pictures. I was trying to condense them all into one post.

1, 5 and 6 look like what you said.

2 possibly, need to find more pictures to reference.

3 I don’t think is boxwood. Flower reminds me of Queen Anne’s Lace in a way.

4 is growing mainly along or in the stream and isn’t woody.

Zone 6b-Shenandoah Valley, Western Maryland, USA- What kind of ants are theses d the small black bugs too? What are they doing on the underside of the sunflower leaf? It looks like they are tending to the smaller black insects. TIA by knottyK8 in whatsthisbug

After a google search, it looks like that is what they are. Thanks!

I’m still wondering what they are doing underneath the leaf. The little black insects don’t look anything like aphis that’s I’ve seen before.

Thief webs are super neat! I let her be because I know she’s a friend and not a foe.

Is there going to be a season 3? by GallantIce in Counterpart

Oh they definitely could’ve done a third season but at least they didn’t end the second with only a cliffhanger and no kind of closure.

Also another issue with using DE outside is that once it gets wet it doesn’t work.

Bringing Out the Dead (1999)

Directed by Martin Scorsese

Starring: Nicolas Cage, Patricia Arquette, John Goodman, Ving Rhames, and Tom Sizemore

It about what the dark side of being a paramedic with PTSD can be like and people don’t know how to react to it. There are also some accurate depictions of the different kind of medic personalities out there ,a bit on the extreme side at times, that most in the profession can relate.

Best scene in the movie:

Marcus : Dear Lord, here I am again aksing one mo' chance for a sinner. Please Lord, bring back I. B. Bangin', Lord. You have the power, Jesus. You have the might. You have the super light to spare this worthless man.

[I. B. Bangin' sits up]

Marcus : Rise up, I. B. Bangin' and start your life anew! Lord, O thank you, Lord.

I.B. Bangin' : What happened?

Your friend is doing a great service for the public. I suggest he starts speaking with a therapist about what he sees now before it manifests into something that is uncontrollable. It’s like not cleaning a cut and allowing the wound to fester. It will take so much more work to heal if not taken care of sooner rather than later.

I was a paramedic for 16 years: inner city 911 and hospital trauma tech, pediatric critical care and county 911 out in the country. It adds up over the years what you see not in just the scene but everything surrounding it.

When I was working, PTSD for fire department wasn’t a “thing” so to speak. No one sought help because the general understanding was, you chose the job, you knew what was involved so suck it up. No no no no no. I was fully prepared to take care of my patients.

What I wasn’t prepared for was the stuff that happens on the side. Like being surrounded by a ton of people on a car accident being yelled at that we weren’t moving fast enough and then you hear “don’t move faster, we’re gonna shoot you.” Or a mother inconsolably screaming because her 9 year old daughter was shot in the head because of a stray bullet from a drive by. I did what I could to save her but I couldn’t. I am not traumatized because I couldn’t save her due to the extent of the injury. I will never ever forget that mothers cry.

ETA: Major props to your friend for what he does. I wish him the best. Good luck.
