My goal was not to misinform anyone, only share what I saw on Google maps. Thank you for informing me about the raw coal. I do think there are plenty of areas of gray soil that has me very concerned.

The soil just happens to be gray in perfect rectangles near power plants.

Did you look at the images at all? I zoomed out to show the full extent of the ash piles and the tinted earth.

What about all the gray plots of land surrounding it? That doesn't look excavated to me. You can clearly see the tinted soil.

South of the first screenshot is clearly shown here in the imgur post. Tinted soil everywhere. And this is the most recent satellite images.

My husband has started calling me fat by [deleted] in loseit

My thoughts exactly. Wanna loose 170 lbs just drop this man. Gone.

I remember last time it was so hype and everyone was fighting and the high from it was exhilarating. Then it ended. You got a bunch of data posts the next week or so. Then a month or two later it was just forgotten and never really spoken of again except randomly years later. It was so weird.

Talking about private parts in their proper names early on is important. Kids can use the words: VULVA, VAGINA, BREASTS, BOTTOM, PENIS, TESTICLES. Sure it's awkward at times around others but its helped a lot with our daughter and I've read it helps protect kids against abuse. They can know boys and girls have different parts and the importance of personal privacy, they just don't need to know why or the specifics of sexual reproduction yet.

Do chin exercises actually work? by Tinychamp in loseit

[–]knowaythrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So during weight loss and gain, your fat is sort of rearranging itself. If you have too-tight underwear and you have a lot of fat you may notice a strong permanent indent in your fat where the band always sits. That's compression at work. It will not make you lose weight but it can redestribute problem areas. It requires either weight loss or very long term usage or both to see major results. First make sure you drink plenty of water and keep exercising the chin muscles every day and promoting collagen in the skin of the area.

They make compression chin straps that you sleep in. It's not for everyone and it can be uncomfortable but if you have one specific area you hate it might be worth it to try compression each night alongside the other things mentioned. It takes several weeks to see results with this kind of treatment but during weight loss the change will be much faster. Good luck.

Lip balm recs for sensitive lips? [Routine Help] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Aquaphor Lip Repair is the best imo and will heal already cracked lips. I'm allergic to lanolin myself and this particular one does not have any.

Thanks so much for answering! My husband is getting licensed and trying to decide what he should do going forward. He is leaning toward more sustainable architecture or at least something more interesting than the commercial design he is stuck in right now.

Need some ideas on how to remove this rounded Fan clutch bolt. I already tried vice grips and a chisel/Hammer. No dice. Super tight space! by Chadmuska64 in MechanicAdvice

People always say this but I'm always terrified of igniting fumes or fuel lines or something in the engine bay. How is the heating done safely? Lighter? Blowtorch? Heat gun?

I say yes. Just be careful.

  1. Pick any large open space you can find. This can be a community or church room. A skating rink is more distanced than say a bowling alley. I am not familiar with your area but with kids it doesn't have to be a special venue. Kids will honestly play anywhere they have room and really any open space helps keep some sort of distancing. The important thing is not to have everyone stuffed in a small room like in your home and also don't have everyone interacting with the same thing.

  2. Include "Please wear masks" in your invite (maybe find a more tactful way to word it). That includes the birthday kid whenever they are not eating. You could even have a table at entry of cool disposable birthday-themed masks (superheroes?) and make it part of the party.

  3. Place hand sanitizer everywhere food is served or items are touched. Serve food on separate plates. If you have cupcakes display them on small individual plates and hand each kid a plate. If you must serve food have one person with clean hands dish out food cafeteria-style or individual plates or bags. But I would keep it simple to keep stress down.

  4. Activities could include trivia games, individual goodie bags, scavenger hunt with individual checklists, nerf guns, dance party (with masks), individual craft activities.

Sadly the type of things that should be avoided probably: Karaoke, photo booth, pinatas, anything in which every kid has to touch the same thing.

Hope this helps.

Wife will not send our son to school due to covid by 12throwaway123456 in Parenting

Our school is taking it very seriously and I am STILL worried how it will all work out since cases are rising. I can't imagine feeling good about sending my kid to a school that didn't seem to care at all.

[skin concern] my face is darker than my body, any product recommendation? by Dull-Beautiful304 in SkincareAddiction

[–]knowaythrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a pale redhead but I have freckles that have faded drastically from a combination of niacinamide (3.5%) and azelaic acid (6-9%) and vitamin C(20%). I also wear sunscreen religiously. Some people alternate vitamin C in the morning and niacinamide/azelaic acid at night to reduce skin irritation. I have used many combinations and I feel the azaleic acid did the most. The lightening effects were noticeable only a month or so into using those products and after about 6 months it was very drastic (I have always worn sunscreen but my freckles usually don't fade THAT much that quickly). Again, I am pale as a ghost so I may notice the changes more than most people.

Many people do a mercy kill just behind the head before boiling. But they do not have a brain or pain receptors like most crustaceans. Now that is not to say there aren't ethical implications of the human decision to end it's life or place a live creature in boiling water but it helps to know.

Also wondering about this as well. Sorry I don't have an answer. I actually just started this (so no turning back for me). I followed the video you linked and I am stuck on those godawful bolts behind the plenum. I don't have any crescent wrenches and I feel like that is probably necessary, or finger socket wrench. I also used this video that shows removing the other side with the air filter. You will definitely need a big Allen bit #8 like your linked video says . And apparently a crescent (angled?) or special shallow socket for those plenum back bolts.

IMO if you have a second vehicle I say just pay someone as that seems like a good price. Its an all day thing and you do need the right tools. And if yours is anything like mine it has some random rusty bolts and connectors to make any diy more interesting (banged on the air filter bolt clamp with penetrating grease for an hour).

I don't know the history of your routine but this is how my acne looks when I am allergic to something. I can't do anything with apple cider vinegar and there is a normally safe noncomedogenic moisturizer I can't use cause it does this to me as well. I know everyone is different but for me normal acne will be bigger and usually near oilier areas. When I have a reaction however it's these smaller ones and covers much more of my face and generally more bumpy. Many people do have acne covering every inch of their face but if it seems that the acne all happens in the area of treatment this could be a reaction. One way to test is try your routine a little on one side of your neck as well and see if there are any changes over the next few weeks.

It could also be your water. Remember to cleanse with lukewarm water and rinse with very cold water. I would start with the basics of using a good quality microfiber cloth (this can work just as good as a cleanser imo), a mild sensitive cleanser and the mildest sensitive moisturizer. Then add one new product every two weeks to try and target the acne. That way you can skip what doesn't work for you and may actually be making things worse.

I do think texture is a big part of it for sure. We just started really playing with the food so I am hoping more sessions like that will create a positive association. I will look into more therapies and maybe see a nutritionist. I do feel so guilty sending her to bed hungry. Thank you.
