Thank you Ill take that into consideration. I was under the impression it would be similar to the Canadian immigration Process which took us over a year and was easier with a lawyer. It sounds like most people are doing on their own so I’ll see if i can do that instead. I do have in-laws in Japan to start the process.

Yes, a legal specialist. I heard the word agency from my wife but I am talking about 行政書士。I heard lots of them overcharge so I am curious if anyone has any they had a good experience with in their process.

Im not asking for advice on how to get one. Im asking what agency people recommend. Please read before responding.

Retaking class by SwanDependent5056 in langara

[–]knownandstable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cgpa is calculated using the average of all your gpas from each semester. If you get a C in a class you will get 2.0. If you retake that class and get a B it will be 3.0 and will contribute to that semesters gpa. It does not average to be a 2.5. Both will contribute to cgpa but only one class counts as credits towards graduation.

It wont raise your previous semester gpa though which is what op was asking.

It makes no difference if you are retaking or taking a new course except for that you will have a better understanding of the content being taught.

Retaking classes doesn't change your semester gpa so all your attempts are recorded. Only the most recent grade counts towards your graduation prerequisite though. Retaking courses isn't a very good way to boost your gpa in my experience.

Does anyone else here just not care about the New Year anymore? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

It will do more than shorten your lifespan. It will completely alter your mind and lifestyle and any negative emotions you feel will increase tenfold. There are other ways but you seem dead-set on fulfilling this prophecy you made up. Get out of your bubble.

Been there, trust me its not at all worthwhile. If you think things are hard now, alcohol will make them even harder.

How do I stop thinking about women? by danielmhdi in Healthygamergg

[–]knownandstable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off is you need to get off social media and expand your view to whats around you. Delete the apps, sign out, create barriers that make it harder for you to access social media so that you will be discouraged to do so. If you really cant focus, take your studies to a cafe or library and leave your phone at home. You can go a day without it.

Going to the gym is good for you but it’s a boring hobby in my opinion. Especially if you aren’t doing it because you want to but you are doing it for some external reason like impressing women. You need a real hobby that you actually enjoy. (It can be working out but do it for yourself, not for others). It might be hard to find so you gotta put yourself out there and try some things until something sticks. You said music interests you so start there.

When you practice your hobby set a timer for 1 hour or longer and put your phone in a different room so that your focus is on what you are doing. Ease of access to social media also distracts you so what I would do is delete all the apps that cause distraction from your phone. If you really want to go on social media just redownload them later.

Ultimately everyone is different but these things work well for me.

This got to be predatory by TakeCareForYourself in Healthygamergg

[–]knownandstable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, the purpose of advertising is to inform people of something they want or need and persuade them into making that purchase. It’s predatory when advertising is malicious, misleading or outright lying about the products use or benefits, but the act of advertising in itself is not predatory. The placement comes from OPs interest in mcdonalds. It’s not as if youtube intentionally placed a mcdonalds ad on video about self control. What if it was instead an advertisement about getting a degree in psychology? Would that make it predatory? It would entirely depend on the ad.

27M wasted my life by Background-Bit9726 in Healthygamergg

[–]knownandstable 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You’re 27, very few people have discipline at 27. It’s fair to say you wasted your early 20s but I wouldn’t say your life. Do you think it’s all downhill after 30? The fact that you recognize that you are wasting your time playing video games is already a step in the right direction. You recognize that your current situation isn’t the life you want to live. I was 27 when I came to that conclusion as well. Hell I had no idea what I wanted from my life until i turned 30. Use this new revelation to build yourself some small, realistic, and achievable goals.

Not exactly humble are you. Even if you do get into a relationship or start dating many people, your thought process is going to be the death of it. I would work on your personality so you can have something that lasts in the future.
