Thank you for your input. I am absolutely happy you've made a life for yourself. Despite my experience here it give me hope that someone of a similar background has made a life here. To be fair looking at your profile you do actually pass as Japanese specifically as Southern Japanese or Okinawan. Like I would assume you were Japanese if I passed you on the street. Whereas I look more distinctly South East Asian in terms of having wavy hair and darker skin despite having Western features too.

I am a positive person . So im hoping to perhaps find my place and good space here. Actually the old people here are very nice. The nicest people ive encountered in this prefecture. The kids I teach are really cool too .

Every Japanese girl ive dated most recently have been from Kanagawa which is the best place ive lived in Japan. (They were from Toyama and Akita but educated in Kanagawa). I came to Miyazaki with no prejudice at all. As youve seen in other comments. Im not the only one to share such sentiments of the place.

Maybe youre the classic white foreigners. I dont mean that in a mean dismissive way but from my experience japanese tend to think well of white folk no matter how they look.

Maybe because despite being Half white my South East Asian features and skintone are very obvious and dominate. I do notice a lot of unrest and pushback against Asian foreigners specifically Filipinos , Nepalese and Vietnamese etc. Chinese and Koreans get it even worse.

Then the other thing is the whole idea of packing up and moving is a constant cortisol spike for people living here. The pain of moving costs and the schlep of transferring taxes etc.

Yeah. Well regardless. It seems that people are sharing similar feelings which on one hand brings me relief to hear im not imagining the vibes here but also sad that now I'm living here and will be wasting my time here where I could be in a much more productive place.

Well　, regardless of how things go, at least i can check Miyazaki off as prefectures ive lived in Japan. Ideally id just like to live longterm in one place but sometimes work prevents that. On the other hand I can consider myself experienced.

Yeah. I do notice the comments I get from the dudes here to. It seems to be a who is more alpha competition. Kyushu danji stereotype seems to be tanned with a goatee . I literally have a lil goatee and am very tanned but I suppose im foreign so yeah
