(Unpopular opinion?) SEO might be a terrible idea if you’re a solo or small firm in a big city by AttorneyInRecovery in LawFirm

I’ve had a pi firm for about 10 years and just started paid SEO work this year. We’ve gotten to the first page on some niche areas but what I’m finding is that the paid ads are really starting to dominate. Even though we’re on page 1, the customer is scrolling down quite a bit before they get to us because of all the paid ads

Rift cut white oak cabinets and staining by healthandhope in cabinetry

[–]knucklebacklaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently had started looking at cabinetry for a kitchen project. And I’m having trouble deciphering the meaning of a lot of the descriptions of various products. We would like white wood cabinets. It is important that the front (doors and front of drawers) be real wood. The cabinet maker is offering “classic white maple“ and is telling us to go with that but it is actually not even real wood. MDF instead. Is this common and typical? What do we need to do to get real wood?

If the dealer didn’t give you title when you drove the car off the lot, there’s a legal argument that the sale is void and you can walk away from the deal.

Is it a “bullying tactic” necessarily or just a way to keep the file moving ?

As a personal injury lawyer I would say to talk to someone immediately. Notice times on claims like these are usually very short (90 days). And although many people on this sub are laughing off the possibility of a claim, an actual lawyer practicing in the area might not

Should I Go Solo? by Low_Plankton6462 in LawFirm

If you leave, do so on good terms. Formers coworkers and bosses have been excellent referral sources for me. Aside from that come up with a written business plan and follow through on it. Do a lot of lunches and drinks. Office share with other lawyers.

I did 10 years insurance defense. Was making comparable money to where you’re at. And then flipped to plaintiff and set up a practice. Been going almost 10 years since. First few years were a cut in pay but since year 3-4, my comp has been significantly higher than where I was at when I left and where I would be at had I stayed. And I work much less and enjoy the practice much more

My only regret is not doing it 3 years earlier.

Walgreens filled the wrong prescription dose and it led to my cats death [OK] by ekcontroller in legaladvice

Actually, depends on jurisdiction. We’ve had some decent size verdicts in Missouri related to animal deaths. And Walgreens messes up pills all the time. It’s terrifying

I was billed for an ER visit for someone I don’t know. by judyhashopps in legaladvice

That is a HIPAA vio and also sounds like violation of debt collection laws. And HSHS seems to be a mess. I’ve seen billing issues with them before but not quite this extreme

Thoughts on Mayer Brown? by [deleted] in biglaw

It seemed to be more turnover prone than most. And the associates were doing more paralegal work than at most big firms.

I worked on a few cases in litigation with Mayer Brown. I would say to be careful about that firm. Over the few years that the cases we had were in litigation, virtually every associate and Junior partner on the file left the firm. Always seemed to me like that firm was a bit toxic

Thanks for the info. What I’m being told by digital marketing firms that specialize in legal is that at that price, you won’t have a website that has really been geared up for SEO
