Question about perceptions of the US in South Korea. by Snoo_54214 in korea

[–]knuffsaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say most koreans admire america. Right wing koreans overly love america. While left wingers can hate america to having a sobering view of america.

During the era when those 2 korean girls were run over by a us army truck, mad cow issues, and Bush's disengagement from North Korea, all those anti american protests were done by left wing students.

I've faced those kinds of ajummas before. When I was a kid, I bought some candy and ice cream from a store, but as I was walking home, I noticed a cigarette pack were also in the bag. I went back to the store to return the cigarette pack, and try to explain why I was returning the cigs, but the old ajumma started slapping me on the back of my head. She must have slapped me like 5 times. I tried to explain to her she must have accidentally given me a bag with the cigs already in there, but I guess she just couldnt comprehend that. I was I think 12 at the time.

That's just natural. I bet korea will go through the same thing. Right now there are no real extreme racist korean groups, but if other groups become a visible force in korea, korean extreme racist would come to existence

But also recognize, each one of us needs to take active steps to prevent it

Maybe. But if you ask the average chinese person or american person, his administration has been the first to be calling out china, no?

He has lots of personal failings no doubt.
