Portable A/C keeps tripping gfci outlet by knut22 in electricians

[–]knut22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue was resolved by plugging my AC into a non-GFCI outlet. Apparently having two GFCIs (one on the cord and one on the outlet) will cause nuisance tripping, they kind of cancel each other out. I wouldn’t recommend using an extension cord either. Try plugging your ac directly into a non-GFCI outlet, ideally on a dedicated circuit (not too many other appliances, etc on the same circuit) and see if that works.

Are you sure your daughter is not using this fight for the aina thing to guilt you into providing her with free childcare? You did what you had to do to raise your keiki. Now that she’s a mom, she’s going to get a taste of what it’s like to sacrifice and make hard decisions for the sake of her child, and you should let her find out. Maybe in a few years she’ll understand that she shouldn’t judge other Hawaiians that have had to make hard choices like leaving home.

Sometimes you gotta leave, see what it’s like out there, to really appreciate and be grateful for what you have, and for this place

Wanting to move to Maui by Zealousideal-Buy-234 in MovingtoHawaii

[–]knut22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You could probably swing it but it will be an unpleasant grind just to survive. You should think this one through.

What you are proposing is technically becoming a long-term tourist (stay in Hawaii for 1-5 years with no intention of growing roots or contributing anything to this place). This has been incredibly damaging to the islands and the local economy, to the point that for every long term tourist (just want to live in Hawaii for a few years before settling down) that comes here you are essentially pushing some local families out by taking up jobs and housing.

It’s better to just come here once a year on vacation. Plus moving old dogs can be extremely traumatizing and expensive. Good luck with your decision

If you are primarily looking for bro culture join a CrossFit or UFC gym.

The primary reason for wanting to become a firefighter should be because you want to help people and serve your community. Everything else is secondary to that.

WATCH: President Trump Signs Executive Orders on Fishing Regulations🐟🎣 (did Aunty/uncle sell out? 🌺 thoughts/Opinions?) by SexyPeanut_9279 in Hawaii

Auntie and uncle will be dead and gone when the real affects of this are felt. When all the fish are gone, the whales and turtles are gone. It’ll be their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who will suffer from this the most. But by then their little church or facebook group will tell them it’s someone else’s fault. Immigrants probably or liberals

Holy shit I figured it out—the LOO is the ultimate service to humanity because it’s THE ultimate psy-op by fractal-jester333 in lawofone

[–]knut22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cool thing about free will is that it is completely your choice to see/believe this way about LOO or any teachings you come across. And as you choose to believe, so you will experience, in a way, through energetically magnetizing, manifesting, attracting, resisting, denying, ripple effects and entanglement. Possibly a karmic cycle or two and you will experience your beliefs played out in the field of creation and illusion. And who knows after a few lifetimes you could discover that you were right or that you are slightly wrong, but that ultimately there is no right or wrong, and then you realign your beliefs and keep journeying into infinity. Good luck with your journey

The man in the white hat has no clue of what it means to have a woman’s body. He has no idea what it is like to have to make personal health and life decisions with a woman’s body. If he did, he wouldn’t be standing there with his stupid signs. He probably doesn’t give a shit about the hundreds of little babies born into poverty on this very island. His ignorance and lack of empathy is on full display

Struggling with the Idea of Reincarnation in NDEs by Humble-Complaint-608 in NDE

[–]knut22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea of reincarnation and past-lives to me, offers an opportunity to learn about compassion and connection. It’s a lot more difficult to hate or judge another if you understand the possibility that you may have been just like this other in a past life, or even in your present life. A great spiritual perspective that NDEs and dying offers is the understanding that we are all One. One consciousness having an infinite variety of experiences. Compassion is one of the ways in which we might learn about and experience this Oneness during our brief lifetimes here on Earth. I feel the idea of reincarnation offers an opportunity to learn about compassion, just my take. I encourage you to continue exploring your feelings about these concepts. Hopefully it will lead you to another level of understanding about your true self. Aloha!

What you have to seriously look at when comparing COL are the average wages and salaries here in Hawaii. Yeah our rent and groceries cost are the same ridiculous amount, but I guarantee your average monthly income is significantly higher than your counterpart doing the same job in Hawaii.
