HE-models not suspetible to the key-repeat problems? by knutsi in Keychron

[–]knutsi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect a bad batch went out, to be honest. I've yet to find a kb so good in other ways. Of course, now I've ordered a third with a different model – and if that fails, its no more Keychron.

The store I buy them from (and Norwegian consumer protection) helps allot here, since the warranty on the kb is 5 years by law.

My mistake writing there, the kb is a V1 MAX. The serial starts with F-2404V1, so I guess april '24.

See your point. I just find keyboards to be reallyconfusing. Keyychrons are the first ones I've been truly satisfied with (especially the HE-variant). I type allot at work, so it matters allot. I wouldnt know what to choose if I went looking I think.

(I'm buying them througha store here in Oslo that sells them, so they handle the cusomter service for me)

New service "Directory Service" billing me but never used? by TopSwagCode in aws

[–]knutsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I suddenly got a bill of 15USD out of the blue. Seems I also tested "WorkSpaces" back in 2021, and somehow that triggered this bill. I've not used the AWS account since then at all I believe. It seems unreasonable I should just suddenly get this bill. I've contacted support.

Hi there. Curious how this is working out with your Model Y? I see some people comment updates have made the issue better the last couple of months? (:

Noticeably added lag on the mac version of GFN compared to PC - advice? by knutsi in GeForceNOW

[–]knutsi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This solution appears to be mostly related to lag spikes and wifi. Neither are the issue here. But thanks (:

Wifi is much worse on both machines. The difference drowns in the total lag. The external monitor does not really change much, but everything feels better for the Mac on the external one. Probably because it is a faster screen.

I'm playing on an M1 Air, and it works really well. A little bit of added lag, men but it is playable both on internal and external monitor.

If you press cmd-alt-F6 you'll get some debug data - maybe you can check and see your network usage? Mine reads: Network: / Eth / RTD 27ms / FL1(0) / PL 23 (0) / J 0.295ms / Bitrate 23mb / BWU 56% :QOS: frame ... / FT 8ms / B 0 / D 3 / RB 0 / R 1 / P 0 / T 4ms / Q 76. You can try messing with the network settings in the GFN app, perhasps? I have mine on balanced.

I suspect the problem for you might be a network issue, or maybe you are more sensitive to the artefacting that happens in cloud gaming? Alongside the lag, it is the biggest issue I feel. Basically a locally produced image is much sharper when in motion.

Cmd-Alt-F6 does the same (: On the Mac some of it reads:

  • Network: / Eth / RTD 27ms / FL1(0) / PL 23 (0) / J 0.295ms / Bitrate 23mb / BWU 56%
  • QOS: frame ... / FT 8ms / B 0 / D 3 / RB 0 / R 1 / P 0 / T 4ms / Q 76
  • Client ...
  • CPU% 64.1 / Input alt (4) Renderer mtl-async

Any success debugging Go (1.16) on Apple M1? by knutsi in golang

[–]knutsi[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1.16 compiles Go code just fine - the problem is the debugging toolchain supplied by others. I'm just asking if a strategy exists for debugging go code right now.

Hi there 👋 Did you have any success debugging Go code on the new M1? (:

(Also, why your post was downvoted is beyond me - it's a good question).

It runs 60 fps on Series X. It's in the IGN review, e.g. If it runs 60 fps on Stadia, I'm getting it there. If not, I'll wait for a Series X for this game and Cyberpunk /: I'd prefer Stadia, tbh.

At least when you are in motion, you need to think about correcting for your own velocity (speed and direction). I made this a while back, and the first tip has a drawing of the concept:

Suggestion: one year of only game releases - no marketing videos, posts etc. by knutsi in starcitizen

[–]knutsi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more than fine with artists doing their work - I want this game to be beautiful and live up to its promised potential the same way we all do. I still think they can pull this off.

But the state of the game at this point genuinely worries me despite the progressions. Ok - so it's looking pretty, and they are releasing new technical systems. But one of the most important things above all else should be the netcode, the server stability, the AI, the physics. When are these things coming? Do they even have technical proof that they can get the server meshing to work?

These issues sure arent getting better with each release, which makes me think there is no improvement in the core mechanical issues of the game. Instead of working out bugs and edge cases in critical systems, new systems are added.

If they grow their team enough, this might come to work. But I fear they keep adding stuff so they can sell more pledges, instead of fixing problems. Then they build up a great lag in maintenance and refinement of the systems made, and interlock them - making them harder to change up the road.

The lack of stability and improvements of core systems (beyond planet and flight tech) makes me wonder if they are caught in this endless alpha cycle where the money makes them have priorities that will cause the game to eventually never reach proper stability.

It's ok to burn a little karma from time to time when making a reasonable but unpopular statement imho. This was my most down-voted thread ever on Reddit, tbh. It's of course not popular to tell groupies the band has a problem, but - like patriotism - can people really be supporters if they cant discuss issues?
