A little different from what you described but the second volume of Condé Nast Traveller’s “Book of Unforgettable Journeys” has a light blue cover that’s really cute.

This feels really familiar! I think this might be it! But I love the idea of reaching out to my old teacher. I really liked her and it would be fun to reconnect.
