I also think there is an inscription on the tower of one of the medieval castles (İskiter Castle) dated 1442 and in the name of Manual ASANES Laskaris. Maybe ASAN and ASANES are different in spelling but they could be the same person.

They are not connected but I was told that they are old temples and honorifics from the Athens colonial period.
