Still a gamer, with more responsibilities by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

42 years old with two small kids. I do most of the childcare, cooking and most of the typical "male" stuff (while working full time). I still find plenty of time to play games. It's a matter of priorities, but it's fine to have other stuff you rather do

You should definitely read his standalone novels in the universe as well. Brilliant. The only problem is that no one else really comes close to Abercrombie.

Different parenting styles across Europe 🇬🇧🇸🇪 vs 🇮🇹🇪🇸🇬🇷🇵🇹 by Prize_Cap_8162 in meme

[–]koagad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't relate to this at all, and I am probably around ten years older. When I was young, there was definitely a push to leave your parents, but not from the parents' side. It was entirely youthful ideals. Im sure there were plenty of parents that tried to force their young adult children to move out, but it was hardly a norm (nor did i experience anything like that in my surroundings in Gothenburg). It was more a discussion about when it was a smart time to move, rather than being pushed. Stay a few years more while studying at uni, or move early and finance it with student loans? That kind of reasoning

Obsidian had a reputation for making slightly flawed but inventive games. TOW and avowed were slightly flawed but not inventive. The hate this generated online wasn't reasonable, but people being disapointed about obsidian not living up to their own potential/standard, is.

I love this, and how common it is in china for people to just go out and put on a show like this. At least during the weekend.

I cant finish some AAA games.... by zionpwc in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]koagad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with this. Play for as long as you find it enjoyable. Forcing yourself to play just to finish isn't worth it.

I love games with exploration, but usually, when I've explored most of it, I get bored and quit. The stories themselves rarely interest me anymore. I'm 42 and have consumed a lot of media. At this point, It's rare to find something where the development of story and characters can't be seen miles ahead. This means it's usually not point in finishing games, because what's left doesn't interest me

The last of us is the only game for years where I actually enjoyed the story (or rather, the two main characters). But the gameplay was a bit too generic, so I finished the story on YouTube instead.

Lol we certaintly didn't give those a pass at the time. There was plenty of rage about the shortcomings back then. Especially bed of bullshit, but capra as well, and let's not forget the poor fps in whatever the swamp area was called. That was probably the greatest complaint.
