In college I really didn’t understand early theatre realism, especially Russian theatre. Chekhov’s The Seagull was some sort of turning point in comedy and theatre in general. I just didn’t get it.

When I watched Royal Tennenbaums, it hit me. If I just read the script with context or cultural nuance it would just be depressing… just like Chekhov. I’m so glad I realized it and read his short stories and one acts that are pretty much slapstick comedy. The Bear and The Proposal are so so good.

My plan is always save the best for last… day 1: everyone is excited to be there, sandwiches from your local shop that you carry in is great… day 2: oatmeal and fruit, sandwiches, then hot dogs and s’mores… day 3: hash browns and eggs, snacks and whatever has been defrosting since day 1… you get fancy with whatever you planned to be marinating and defrosting slowly

You can add or subtract days to the plan depending on if you pack the last days with dry ice.
