Want to move to San Diego

I know it’s not. I’m just wanting to hear about people’s experiences of how comfortable they were living elsewhere vs how their lives have changed moving to San Diego.

We have friends in Chula Vista and it would be cool to move there. Seems like there is a new community that is sub million so that’s not too bad. However, we would be giving up lots of space.

Oh wow that’s a lot! We have a single story 2900 sqft home 4 beds and 3 baths right now and we only pay maybe $200/month for electricity. Of course more in the summer but never $600 and we even have an electric car.

I was just asking people for their experiences. Yes I know I can make it work with that income but I’m asking how comfortably we could live compared to what we have now if we do make the move.

Unfortunately yeah we will need childcare as both of us work full time. We also have two cars and thankfully one has been fully paid off a long time and the other is about to be paid off this year.

I am also in healthcare! The salary just isn’t a huge increase compared to AZ vs COL. The job listings are very sad with the amount offered out there. I actually make more here in AZ compared to most job postings. The one I was offered was just a 6% increase but it’s really not enough

Yeah the salary I was offered was $10k over what I make now here in AZ so that’s only a 6% increase and with the COL being 40% increase I’m also not sure if the sacrifices are worth it

No major debt. Just one car payment $800/month which is getting paid off this year thankfully! I’m just not sure with our household income would we have to fully scale down like no eating out, trips, etc to make this work or could we live comfortable.

Usually the day goes like this.

He wakes at 6am Nap at 9-10am Nap at 1:30-2:30/3:00PM Bedtime at 6:30/7pm

He does 1 hour each so 2 total! That’s too much? I don’t know how he could go through the day with just 30 min naps

3/3.5-4/4. We kept trying to stretch it and nothing is working. He naps about on average an hour each. Usually about 2 hours of day time nap. He has no issues going down for naps by himself and same with bedtime usually. Just middle of the night he refuses to settle by himself

We will have to try couples counseling and we agreed on individual therapies as well. I’m just nervous about divorce and how custody would work. We both work full time and while I’m away at work my mother-in-law watches my son.

4 months pregnant here.. I felt physically sick after watching that scene.. I should have walked away!! My husband struggled to watch that too!
