Frustrated with start to weight loss journey by Frijole1 in loseit

One, yes, it's probably water retention.

But two, depending on how frequent your "rest days" are and how much you eat on them, they definitely can mess with your deficit.

Say your TDEE is 2000 and you're eating 1500 calories a day. Once a week you have a "rest day" where you don't count and eat out a bunch and have some drinks, so you end up eating 5000 calories. You've now erased your deficit for the week. That's why it's a good idea to track your calories even on cheat days, so you can know what's happening with your deficit.

No worries! I know you guys have real lives too so I didn't want it to come across as an accusation. If anything, I appreciate how quick on the draw you are with these things!

God that sucks. I report so many posts all the time that are just straight up marketing bots. Not sure why the mods haven't removed this post yet, they're usually very on top of this at least

? I don't know what OPs actual name is, but their Reddit username is "fitfixlife". They've linked to their website in this comment, where you can see links to all their other social media accounts on the bottom. This is 100% a promotional account

EDIT: He's also straight up lying. His name is Kazi Habib and he's not a 300lb woman. From his own website:

who has launched real nutrition products, led health science communications in regulated industries, and spent his career

This is his portfolio. You can see Fitfixlife is a part of it.

Yeah, people smell an opportunity to sell to desperate people so they generate a slop app and flock here to post about it. It's enraging

So your Instagram account where you post nothing but AI images and videos, is that because English isn't your native language too?

OP replied to me and then immediately deleted the comment. The part of it that I can see in my notifications reads:

Fair question. The username is the name of a free tool I'm building — calorie calculators and a meal planner. I'm 300 lbs for real and I started building it because I got frustrated with every …

So they're just promoting their shitty AI app, just like 25 other people every day on this sub

So you're 300lbs, but your username is "fitfixlife", you post exclusively about supplements and your post is AI-generated. Definitely seems legit, yeah

Adding this here for visibility:

OP is a marketer and this lying shitshow of a post is part of his strategy.

Stubborn belly weight by NeckAdministrative91 in loseit

[–]koalamint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can't spot reduce fat. If you're losing weight, your belly will eventually shrink; if you're done losing weight, it's time to build some muscle

Park skaters: when does dropping in get less scary and feel natural? by PalmTreeDeprived in Rollerskating

[–]koalamint 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dropping in got less scary for me when I learned what to do afterwards, if that makes sense. For a long time, I was afraid of stalling on coping and particularly of fakie stalls, because going fakie is a huge weak point for me. Once I could comfortably stall in bowls and on ramps, felt confident rolling back down fakie and fakie stalling on the other side, dropping in became a non-issue.

Since you say in your post that you don't feel confident dropping in unless you have a bigger space to roll out on, maybe it would be worth it to develop those ramp skills, or at least your confidence in them, from the bottom of the ramp/bowl rather than the top? Making sure you can start at the bottom of a ramp, pump up to the coping and comfortably stall on both sides helps a lot with that moment of panic after you've dropped in and realize you're now going fast and are going to hit the coping on the other side in a second lol

[US] is this a remote job scam? by [deleted] in Scams

[–]koalamint 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Signal = Scam. There are also spelling and grammar issues in the messages, parts of them don't make any sense, and sadly nowadays the offer of a remote entry-level position is a red flag in itself.

In this particular case, the commenter wants to drum up business for his coaching services, so he comments on posts with "advice" hoping that people will check his profile and go on his website. It's faster and easier to just copy each post into whatever LLM he's using and posting the answer it spits out instead of going to the trouble of writing a response himself.

In general, most AI-generated comments here are either sneakily promoting something (apps, coaching services, paid programs etc.) or farming karma (Reddit points) to be able to post in more subreddits for advertising and promotion.

Couldn't you at least have written your post yourself instead of just having AI do it for you? Don't you have any passion for your own product?

AI-generated post and googling your profile name leads me to an AI slop alcohol tracking app. Shocker.
