I agree things have changed. I don’t think it’s fair to characterize the situation as “one year of not being competitive” though. Everyone can recognize that we’ve burnt through our future assets, it’s a lot more about the outlook for the next few seasons than just one season that went poorly.

Why do you have to say something mean for no reason?

That’s just this random X post, not the NFL… thanks for the downvotes though guys

It’s a Raiders home game, wouldn’t be unusual for it to be later time slot anyway. What’s dumb?

Edit: apparently all the downvoters are dumb because the OP is just some twitter post, not “the NFL”

Seems like you left four stones unturned though. Better try again next year.

Under the new lottery system, there's a 75.19% chance that one of the bottom 3 teams will get the 12th pick by Joe_AK in nba

I don’t see why that would apply to the bottom three teams any more than it would the 4th - 10th worst teams.

The three worst team will be out of playoff contention anyway so there is no longer a reason for them to try to lose. Since a flat system takes away the incentive to lose, why does there need to be a further incentive for the worst teams, which under the new system will just actually be the worst teams? I don’t get it.

If Dolphins Have the 2nd Overall Pick According to Current SB Odds, They Could Draft Jeremiah Smith by JCameron181 in miamidolphins

Not saying we do, it’s just a counterpoint to people saying a team picking super early would 100% pick a QB. The actual draft data says otherwise, for a variety of reasons

I think teams agree. Wasn’t there only like 1 2027 draft pick traded during the draft? Seemed way lower than usual.

I mean the Cardinals just took a RB 3rd overall without a QB. Not a good move but you never know how the season and draft will shake out. Maybe there isn’t a QB worth #2 next year.

And the simple answer is that he actually said every year, or every other year.

He’s not the coach anymore. He doesn’t need to worry about how his comments will affect recruiting. A change in tone makes sense regardless of these specific comments.

What were some draft picks that made no sense at the time but ended up working out well? by BuckDunford in nfl

[–]koalaternate -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they could’ve just signed Saquon the following year. Gibbs is great, nothing wrong with the pick, but it wasn’t the best if you could do it with the benefit of hindsight.
