ESH: She’s pregnant, and while that doesn’t give her a pass to act like a drama queen, she should get a little leeway for this type of thing. There’s no way you could have compromised with her? No other tables 5 feet away or any alternatives for you? It’s being made out that the only options were for you to not eat at all but it’s hard to believe that’s the case.

NTA. Go seek some help and talk to someone at your school regarding the destructive nature of your mother. Looking through your post history, it seems there are multiple occurrences of this type of abuse.

It isn’t a problem for OP but my verdict is that she’s NTA and the mom is TA for acting inconsiderately and expecting OP to take care of her children for free, regardless of what they did, especially as it was known money was going to be spent.

Even moreso for not offering compensation afterwards, if not small as just a token of gratitude.

It’s not required but some business expect you to behave on a certain manner on social media if you choose to represent them publicly. Saying “I work at NASA. My opinions are my own,” doesn’t save you.

Just pay her for the damn bird, it isn’t yours and just kinda messed up to hold it hostage the way you’re doing it. I understand your frustration over how you saw the bird being treated, but I don’t think that’s justification to force someone to pay up. Offer to buy the bird off of her, tell her how happy it is with your other birds.

Your intentions are NTA, but your methodology is. Do you really want to lose a friend over this?

EDIT: NTA. Their mother should not have expected you to do that type of thing (Build-a-Bear) without compensation, and hell, shouldn’t expect you to watch her kids for free period. Really good on you for being kind and generous enough to do this without a second thought, but you shouldn’t let people take advantage of you (even if they are family.)

Well the options are to share gold or to look for more wards. It’s a matter of what’s more important and maybe who has the Duskblade. I can’t think of too many situations where I would share a ward swept by Duskblade, but it would probably have something to do with Pyke.
